someairforcedude Posted October 19, 2021 Report Posted October 19, 2021 Student pilot here just bought my Mooney today. Got an M20E. Starting my complex, and high performance training as soon as the weather clears up here in Ohio. Getting the panel upgraded probably through winter time using Dynon and an IFD540. I think this is my final plane but only time will tell. It currently fits my mission to train, get my IFR, and take family just about anywhere we need to go. Glad to be here as a member finally, been lurking for months. 2
Will.iam Posted October 19, 2021 Report Posted October 19, 2021 Welcome to MS Air Force dude. That will be a sweet ride with those upgrades. Please post pics as you can of the modifications to the panel. 1
carusoam Posted October 19, 2021 Report Posted October 19, 2021 Dude! Welcome aboard! …and thank you for your service. You have come to the right place… Get settled in… let’s talk. Best regards, -a- 1
201Mooniac Posted October 19, 2021 Report Posted October 19, 2021 Congrats! That is a very pretty and clean looking E. I'm sure you will enjoy your training and flying in your Mooney. 1

How old are the kids? Strange thing, those little ones grow and soon you end up in an Ovation. Just ask Anthony! 1
Sixstring2k Posted October 19, 2021 Report Posted October 19, 2021 Congratulations on the purchase. 1

HP is* more than* 200 HP and the is *is* 200 HP. Edited October 19, 2021 by KLRDMD 1

carusoam Posted October 20, 2021 Report Posted October 20, 2021 Even more so when the temps and DA drop…. Rated HP vs actual HP of the day… Best regards, -a-

With several hundred M20-C hours, getting the HP Endorsement in a 182 didn't teach me anything (except how to make my first-ever 182 landing at night, at a Class D, with a dead electrical system, partial flaps [10°?], no lights, no radios, and my first ever sight of tower green lights). My C accelerates rapidly when the nose points down, the Cessna not so much.
Dick Denenny Posted October 20, 2021 Report Posted October 20, 2021 You make me envious. My M20E doesn't look like that at all. Be Happy you own it. 2

Bentonck Posted October 20, 2021 Report Posted October 20, 2021 Best of luck dude! It is exciting to have your own plane I hope you get a lot of good use out of it! Nice looking bird and with a newer(ish) panel will make a great platform!
