dougmilam Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Looked into this a year or so ago. No joy. Ended up having labels printed which look pretty good. Quote
jetdriven Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Our 3rd partner want to repaint the engraved letters on those switch covers. Does anyone know how to do that? Quote
carusoam Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 There had been discussion of this topic before. Searching on "rocker" will probably get you close. http://www.sensata.com/contact/request-aircraft-20tc.htm This website was a common recomendation. They sell rockers and do the decoration of the switch covers. They have a list of standard switch names. Have you seen this? Hope this helps, -a- Quote
Vref Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 Yepp this topic was already discussed, but still the answer remains open I think if the sensata covers are fully identical/interchangeable with the switched we have in the older J-k models..? My switches look a bit yellowish (like teeth) would love to have a sparkling WHITE smile again in front of me... Having a switch cover part number from sensata compatible with the breaker switch would make my day...... Is there no procedure to re-condition the old switch covers....? Luc Quote
Skyatty Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 I was able to get a couple from Don Maxwell earlier this year. Quote
John Pleisse Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 I will likely recover mine (79 J) with an adheasive lamanent. Make them look nice. The 14v Mooneys have terrible switch covers. The 28v covers are easier to get. Dennis at Lonestar used to have tons of covers. The Klixon switch covers, according to my A&P and avionics IA, don't conform. I don't know why. I see panel refurb after panel refurb in the photo galleries and nobody has been able to replace these. I have half a mind to go to Klixon (or their cover vendor) myself and have a run of several thousand made and sell them. I am also working on Mooneyspace "Lean Of Peak" Pocket Protectors too. Quote
dougmilam Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Here is a photo of my switch covers with the laminate switch labels. Quote
jetdriven Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 So let's talk about the wipe on-wipe off thing. Is that possible? Can the covers be removed to be reworked? I notice sometimes if you poke the switches the covers come half off. Quote
