Jerry,  I have the articulating seats and have wondered the weight of the standard versus fancy.  Would you mind having your friend weigh both and let me know?

The official delta in weight and arm is on the equipment list of any POH for a model that they were offered.

From the equipment list, each articulating seat pilot/co-pilot are an additional 4.0 lbs each

Ah, thank you, that's what I was looking for.  Not listed on the 1975 equipment list.  Some of the paperwork disappeared in Canada 30 years ago.

Are the seats interchangeable between the right and left sides?

My non-articulating ones are. Every few annuals I swap them around, then have to move everthing in the seatback pockets so I can reach the Owner's Manual. Only needed it in the air one time in thirteen years, but that's all it takes . . . .

The articulating seats actually come in 2 versions. I know I have the higher end seats which include an arm rest on the pilot seat - which eliminates using it in the co-pilot position. They also have/had a separate option to add Lumbar support to a seat - don't see that one much till the longbody's and it adds 2.18 lbs.
