Also find out if an STC is required for install and if and how much Icarus will charge to transfer it to your plane. I was looking at used 430's a while back and found out that every shop I asked charged about $1000 more to install a used 430. If I would buy a new one from them they were willing to "eat" some of the labor. Just be sure you know that the total installed price of the used Icarus vs new. With the 430 there was little if any difference.
jetdriven Posted September 30, 2011 Report Posted September 30, 2011 An 8130 or yell0w tag is not a required item to install used equipment. It is an easy way to establish airworthiness but the final determination is the installing mechanic.
