Apollo Posted April 14, 2020 Report Posted April 14, 2020 Hi, I'm buying a used GTN 650. The part number is "older" I think? I am curious if its still an "acceptable" model when it comes to Garmin and repairs. I know it won't be in warranty, but does anybody see any reason that it wouldn't be able to use the latest software that all 650s use? 011-02256-00 Anybody have any insight or knowledge on this part number? carusoam Posted April 14, 2020 Report Posted April 14, 2020 Calling Garmin is pretty helpful... Checking S/Ns is good before purchase. They keep a record of the known stolen ones... They also have various maintenance programs to be familiar with... Best regards, -a- Quote
titus383 Posted April 14, 2020 Report Posted April 14, 2020 All GTN models can be updated to current software. No issues regardless of part number. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
seaero Posted April 14, 2020 Report Posted April 14, 2020 PN 011-02256-00 is a standard, original GTN-650 (non TXi), however you should have no issues getting it certified and updated by Garmin. They have a flat rate repair List Price of $1000 on the GTN-650. Dealers get a discount from List so might be worthwhile to handle it through a dealer. 1 Quote
