I'll be working with an A&P as well, but wondering if any of you have any experience on working that remaining stud out. I feel really dumb See pics: It looks like there is enough of the stud remaining to extract it. Pull the exhaust riser and gasket to expose it. Ask your maintainer if he has a Snap On stud extractor like this one. It’s a collet style that you thread on to the stud, then tighten the collet to grip the stud. The stud will be a 5/16-18 NC thread. Turn the engine over until the valve is closed, heat the inside of the port with a propane torch and turn the stud out. Clarence Edited April 2, 2019 by M20Doc
