Marauder Posted December 27, 2018 Report Posted December 27, 2018 I could see several concepts. Inside: You would still have brakes if you caught the engine on fire. One less hole in the firewall which is a goal. But they make sealant to keep the fire out. Outside: Would probably need a DER to do it, though some of the Cs have it outside. Someone machined a very nice one. Maybe think about using hard tubing for the direction you choose. As long as there are no leaks, you don't have to access it for decades. Although it is on the annual inspection. The J models I have seen have them in the avionics bay. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro Quote

Yeah well, you’d still have brakes if you ripped the reservoir off and threw it out the window given that the brake cylinders are under the pilots side floor boards Quote

gsxrpilot Posted December 27, 2018 Report Posted December 27, 2018 Pre-flight check? It's not on any Mooney pre-flight checklist I've seen. Quote

RLCarter Posted December 27, 2018 Report Posted December 27, 2018 Question 1) Looking at the side view you can see the filler, I assume you remove the plug and top it off Question 2) I can get to the filter on mine with the seats out laying on the floor board and reaching up into the instrument panel (helps to have eyes on the end of your fingers ) 1 Quote
carusoam Posted December 28, 2018 Report Posted December 28, 2018 LBs moved it to the panel in front of the batteries in the tail... Great for easy access. Clear reservoir too, Still doesn’t get a daily look... Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

I suppose running a wire down the fill tube will show how much are in the reservoir. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro Quote
Yetti Posted December 28, 2018 Report Posted December 28, 2018 seems like this would fit the bill if you don't want to machine your own. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/clp-rr2 1 Quote
