This is what Mooney's are all about. My family is in Florida for a few weeks and I was able to fly down and meet them. I left Houston and flew non-stop to Sarasota (Rectrix was an awsome FBO). The flight was at 17,500 and with a head wind I made it in 5:10. I was over all the bumpy Florida weather. I could hear the traffic below dodging the rain showers. The flight was VFR and only scattered clouds. I came back today in roughly the same time. There are a lot of neat things in life but for this week some of the best were the weather, my family and a beautiful beach. I will say a turbo was a very sweet thing, nexrad is cool and FOREFLIGHT / IPAD combo is so cool I can't contain myself. I posted some pictures. I found a restaurant on top of a bait camp / fishing pier. I had to go back and eat the grouper sandwich a second time! I believe Anna Maria Island is better known for the "older" crowd who visits in the winter. There were very few people on the beach. It was great.
