OK, time for the class three flight physical and I need to find a new doctor in the Kerrville, Boerne or San Antonio area.

Any suggstions? Nothing new to report on my physical, so I am not expecting anything to jump out, I do have a couple items that was previously FAA reviewed and cleared (20/40 vision in one eye, not correctable, asthma) so I don't want to go to a doctor that is going to (again) send everything to the FAA for review or get excited about my vision ( I carry in my own eye doctor report).

thanks for the help

WOW nobody has any references for a good MD? Come on guys I don't want to walk in blindly to some stange doctor. I won't hold you accountable for whatever happens.

Throw some names out there. So far I had on PM for a Doc in Austin. Bit of a drive but doable.

Check out at your local airport for recomendations also.   After my Heart Attack and living in a new area, I picked what I thought was a good one, Pilot, Plane Owner etc., he did not help me, actually in his office charged me for tests that I did not need. My Application and info was incomplete, I feel that he should have said, when you have this and that, then bring it back to me.   He actually tried to sell additional services.

Last Year I had better referrences and a much better AME, he actually did try to get mine approved by calling OKC, the FAA said no on that and he sent all of the paperwork in for me, and then OKC mailed my 3rd class Medical about six weeks later.    I will use this AME next year again.

You might want to consider Dr. Krass in the Ft. Worth area.  It would take a day trip, but it might be worth it.  Flight physicals is the only thing he does, and he does a lot of them.  Most of the airline pilots in DFW area use him, but he does Class III's as well.  He absolutely knows the system, and is the guy you want if you have any concerns with your health.

I used to go to various AME's, but have now been going to Krass for many years, and he is the only AME I will go to.  Even if I live in Akaska or Hawaii in the future, I will find a way to get back to DFW for my medical with Krass.

He is a great guy, very relaxing, and a pro at what he does.  His number is 817-282-0274.

Good luck.
