Marauder Posted January 27, 2017 Report Posted January 27, 2017 I have one of these. How does $480,000 sound? I should be able to get a nice Lambo for that much. Just kidding. Thanks for posting the picture. Hopefully someone has one. 1 Quote
yvesg Posted January 28, 2017 Report Posted January 28, 2017 Don't hold your breath. Have been looking for one for over 2 years now and still no chance. My wing leveler is performing very well and I have the electronic box. Yves Quote
Calib18 Posted January 28, 2017 Author Report Posted January 28, 2017 I know, I have looked at all ends of the earth seems like , but you never know , I would absolutely love to find one there has to be a valve that could be used to replace this one , at this point I'd try anything lol Quote
Yetti Posted January 28, 2017 Report Posted January 28, 2017 If you put "vacuum cutoff valve 12 volt" into google. Quote
Calib18 Posted January 28, 2017 Author Report Posted January 28, 2017 It didn't bring anything up for me , I have herd some people have used a substitute valve and had good luck with it but finding what they used is like an act of congress Quote
Yetti Posted January 28, 2017 Report Posted January 28, 2017 Oh wait this is the two way valve. One just sold on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brittain-Autopilot-Components-14VDC-Turn-Coordinator-amp-BI-805-Control-Valve-/311554337565?nma=true&si=E81hc20KzTDWarazouLpsX0fOdc%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Quote

These get taken out with autopilot upgrades. Check Beech forums. I found mine in about three months. One will show up eventually.Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk Quote

I'm kinda surprised no one is manufacturing/re-manufacturing these! Quote

dmc Posted January 28, 2017 Report Posted January 28, 2017 I've been holding on to this for a few years. I've sent it to Jerry for overhaul but never got around to getting it installed. Hopefully I'll have it in the plane this year. i picked mine up from someone upgrading there autopilot. Then I sent everything to Brittain to get checked out. They are out there, but for some reason the valve is hard to find. You think that they could make new ones for what I have seen these sell for. Quote
LANCECASPER Posted January 28, 2017 Report Posted January 28, 2017 They might not have the part but if it's available they will will know who does: http://autopilotcentral.com/ Quote
Calib18 Posted January 28, 2017 Author Report Posted January 28, 2017 DMC would you take 3000 cash for your set up ??? I can pay you tonight lol Quote
Yetti Posted January 28, 2017 Report Posted January 28, 2017 The best I can tell this would be available in different form but same function. I know I have one on the plane, but not sure where it is. Have not seen it under the panel, but I believe that is where it lives. I would guess it opens to one side and close to the other to move the ailerons and rudder. Does anyone have a vacuum diagram? Pulling it out would reveal the secret in a few seconds and allow it to be matched to the correct one from here. https://www.parker.com/literature/Literature Files/IHD/DCsection.pdf Quote
Calib18 Posted January 29, 2017 Author Report Posted January 29, 2017 I'm not sure where it's located i assumed in the tail near the rate gyro Quote
N601RX Posted January 29, 2017 Report Posted January 29, 2017 It's a proportional valve. With 0 volts applied it is in the center position and directs vac equally to the left and right side. If a positive voltage is applied it increases vac to one side and reduces it to the other. With a negative voltage it does the opposite. The amount it directs to one side or the other depends on the amount of voltage applied. It's also counterbalance it isn't affected by bumps or turns. Brittian also sells a bi100 control box for another autopilot system they manufacturer that has a valve inside it that operates in a very similar fashion. There was another member a few months ago who was able to get a field approval to substitute the valve in the bi100 box. These are readily available and cheap. Quote
Calib18 Posted January 29, 2017 Author Report Posted January 29, 2017 The BI100 is 28 volts ? How would I use this with a 12 volt system , any idea how I would find the old thread Quote
Calib18 Posted January 29, 2017 Author Report Posted January 29, 2017 Just purchased the BI-100 12 volt valve , what would I need in conjunction with this to a tempt to have heading hold , I'll work with my AP and others to get this approved but would like to at least see if I can get it to work Quote
