ALCON,

I'm sure that some of you on this board are airline pilots and may be aware of what I'm posting. For the others, please read. Following some high-profile crashes due to fatigue, the FAA adopted new regulations for pilot rest. The new rules are similar to European guidance and incorporate circadian rhythm to the max extent possible. However, cargo pilots were excluded from the enhanced rest rules. Why? My short answer is that it's a money issue. It's cheaper to pay the families of a handful of pilots than a passenger airliner of 100-200 in the event of a crash. Regardless of your opinion, its a fact GA shares some of the same airspace and airports as cargo operators and you should at least be aware of the potential conflict. If you are so inclined, I'm attaching a link to the CAPA website so you can send a quick email to your congressman to establish a single level of safety. Thanks again for the consideration and support.
