Marauder Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 I think I could find my whiskey compass, it's probably still up there on the post above the panel. Does anything else affected by a magnetized airframe? Not that I am aware of. It is kind of ironic that I spent years trying to find a way to keep a compass accurate and today only look at it during run up checklists to verify that my Aspen dual magnetic flux gate compasses agree with it. And if it didn't, I think I would trust the Aspens over it. I did lose the old DG on one flight and remembered how happy I was that I got the vertical card compass working correctly. Now remembering the magnetic dip and acceleration rules were another story. Remember "ANDS" and "NOSE"? 1 Quote

I do know that a student today can't use electronic charts for their practical (at least not around here). Darn thread creep! Sorry. Back to carpets! Quote
