A friend of mine speculated that the crew may have decompressed the aircraft at altitude incapacitating or killing the passengers allowing an unchallenged take over of the plane..... not sure that i disagree with the possibility.

There was a report that the plane went up to 45,000ft which is above normal cruise and then down to 24,000. What would be the point of going so high for any other reason? Definitely not something that happens by accident or in an emergency.

I think due to global warming the Bermuda Triangle has now shifted over to the Indian Ocean :)

On a more serious note, I hope they figure this out soon because it's sure beginning to look like the implications could be quite serious if we don't get to the bottom of this soon.

I've flown my airplanes around southern Ontario the last few days and am happy to report that I did not see the missing plane on my flights. It's not at CYKF, CYSN, CYHS, CYFD, CNY3, CYPQ, CYKZ, or CNC3.

I'll keep looking just the same.

Given the lack of any evidence and now daily news speculation on top of speculation, and analysis of the CNN interviews of the pets of the people who were on the plane, I think Alien Abduction (or Wormhole passage) is an answer. ;)

I watched the above youtube clip.  Some of these  guys say we now have alien technology that gives us the ability to rid ourselves of fossil fuels.  This is not good news for my Mooney.

All of the speculation written here has worn me out. I'm unsubscribing from this thread and will follow up with it when any definitive,  factual news breaks on the subject.

The theory of electrical fire and turning off the juice is the only explanation.  I thought I was alone remembering the SwissAir Halifax accident.  Bless them all and their families.

Is fine with me. But the question by now is what a hijacker is going to do with a 700,000+ pounds airplane with over 9,000nm range?.

My theory now is that the plane landed in Somalia flying over no radar coverage waters (south of India). Got disguised as a freighter maybe FEDEX, DHL, UPS etc. And retroffited with another modified transponder controlled by the crew that can send out misleading altitude data. After all everyone is looking for a Mode S reply not a Mode C only reply like that on a KT-76.

After Somalia it probably headed to the Caribbean flying over skimpy radar coverage in Africa squawking 1200, and over the North Atlantic and landed at night at an airfield like TJRV. No tower, 11,000ft rwy with weeds, abandoned big hangars with a FEDEX truck next to it. FEDEX only fly at night and is not unusual for them to land at an airfield like TJRV. No one on the ground cares about a FEDEX plane. From TJRV it departs at night squawking 1200 and showing 14,000 ft when it is really at 40,000ft. No need to shadow, is another M20TN  with long range tanks. With a 9,000nm range it can land or crash anywhere on the US east coast.

I can't believe the CIA lacks so much common sense. All these news about search on the water is to mislead the hijackers so they will not change their plans. As for the passengers they may all be dead or in the hands of the somali pirates for a juicy ransom after mission is completed.

It looks like Jose' was half right after all. The terrorists built a Boeing submarine, it's going to take awhile to row it to America though.

What do you think Jose', will they attack the cruise ships in Fort Lauderdale or perhaps the navy yards in Jacksonville and Norfolk if they can row that far?

No. This looks more like a 911 event in progress for revenge. But don't worry Obatman is on the alert. The NYC mayor just have to turn the search light on when the time comes.

It seems that some floating objects were found in Australian waters

I am surprised they only spotted two objects. There are thousands of floating objects on the sea. The oceans are the biggest dumps in the world. I think they need to clean the camera lenses on those satellites

I wanted to ask this for a while: Why don't the US military send some U2s (Now called TR-1). These could probably do a better job than the satellites right to survey the possible crash areas?
