jhbehrens Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 Hi I have a built in L3 traffic system that keeps giving warnings on the ground. I believe there is a way to wire it to a switch that closes when you're on the ground, e.g. in the gear. Does anyone know whether there is such a switch on the gear of a long body M20S Eagle? JoeSpeed Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 Use the airspeed safety switch . Only works above 60 knots. It's the same switch that prevents gear operation on the ground
carusoam Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 The indication that you have this airspeed switch, you will have the other half of the system visible on the panel... If the airspeed switch fails, there is a button on the IP to allow operation of the gear. Best regards, -a-
jetdriven Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 My 1977 J has a squat switch and no airspeed safety switch. Yet it still has the button. I installed a clock with a flight timer function and I ran it to terminal 6 on the landing gear handle. Flight timer only runs with the landing gear handle up. This might work for you, and it's fast to do.
