DAVIDWH Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 Voltage regulator went on sabbatical today. 95 M-20R. Model 28vdc/single alt. P/N 800270-501 K S/N 0440 Any help in locating another would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, DH Quote
OR75 Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 should not be too difficult. since you have the part number and serial number, i assume you must have located where it is. Just call Zeftronics and ask then wich one is a drop in replacement Quote
Bob - S50 Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Try Chief Aircraft in Oregon: http://www.chiefaircraft.com/ I've found they have good prices and no sales tax. Sometimes free shipping too depending on what you buy and how much it costs. Quote
NotarPilot Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 I'll check to see if the one that came off my J would fit yours and sell it to you if you want it. Quote
AndyFromCB Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Zeftronics will not touch these with a 10 foot stick even though they make them. Send it to Maxwell, he'll have it repaired and back to you in a few days. Quote
jetdriven Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Andy rings a bell, IIRC there is a ten cent piece inside which blows out, but Don found a local place to rebuild them. Quote
DAVIDWH Posted October 31, 2013 Author Report Posted October 31, 2013 Thanks guys, As mentioned above, unable to cross reference with a Zeft. unit. Found Don's contact info on a previous Mooneyspace blog and will contact him today. For a repeat of his contact info: 903-643-9902, email: service@donmaxwell.COM or postal at 390 Central Rd., Longview, texas 75603 Above info much appreciated as am presently grounded. Quote
Mooneymite Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Not the same situation as yours, but my "Over-voltage" light started coming on occassionally. Since I was going on a long cross-country, I went to Aircraft Spruce and bought a replacement voltage regulator (controller?) and put it in the baggage compartment, lest I have trouble on the road I'd have the part. When got back, I cleaned several electrical grounding points. I've never had another "over-voltage", but that is probably because that new part is still stored in the baggage compartment...not because I cleaned the grounding points. 1 Quote
DAVIDWH Posted October 31, 2013 Author Report Posted October 31, 2013 Presently, Unit is enroute to Maxwell aviation services for rebuild. FYI, just received e-mail quote from WB Parts Inc. for a factory new 800270-501 for $2,500. Evidently, a hard to find item. Quote
OR75 Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 zeftronics do not have a PMA part ? Quote
DAVIDWH Posted November 1, 2013 Author Report Posted November 1, 2013 No joy with Zeftronics. That is the reason they are asking $2500 for a $150 dollar part. Maxwell is the man when you have issues with this item. Quote
