  1. I recently redid my interior and have a set (front only w/headrest) sheepskin seat covers that I'm not using anymore. Light gray. Decent shape especially if your interior needs a refresh. Free to good home but you will need to pay actual shipping. PM if interested.
  2. I have been thinking of adding some sheepskin seat covers to my plane, but I do not like what is currently being made commercially. First, there is very little space between the outboard side of the seats and the side panels. It is sufficiently tight to make placing a layer of sheepskin there difficult. Secondly, I do not like the loose fit and the straps. What I envision is making a fitted leather seat cover tailored to the seat which slips over the seat. I have the Ovation seats so the seat bottom is its own piece velcroed to the aluminum seat bottom. I envision making a pouch that the seat bottom slides into. Likwise, the seat back will be fitted with a tailored cover that slides over the seat from the top, and has an opening in the back allowing access to the seat pocket. The face of the seat bottom and face of the seat back will be sheepskin, and the rest of the seat cover will be regular upholstery leather which will take up less room than the sheepskin because it has no fur, but is equally as durable. I purchased a fur sewing machine to specifically complete this task. Any ideas the crowd might add to the project? John Breda
  3. I’m considering getting sheepskin seat covers for my front seats since the leather is showing wear. I’m interested in any pros and cons and also the best source to get them from.
  4. Figured I’d try here first (before I bought new) to see if anyone had a set of front seat sheepskin covers that would fit a bravo that they are wanting to sell. It appears they are the same size as on the ovations as well. Send me a message!
  5. Ref Sheepskins, they are Great. Every AH-64 has sheepskin covers and I think so do UH-60’s. Warm in a Korean Winter and not sweaty hot even in a Kuwait Summer. I loved them so much I bought a pair for our first Miata back in 89, and discovered an insurmountable problem, it was that they are thick, with the cover on my head hit the inside of the roof and I sat too far forward. I’m only 5’10” by the way. So I think before you buy them for your Mooney you need to sit on a folded blanket or similar and put one behind your back to see if the added thickness would be a problem.
  6. Bring me the sheepskin and the plane and I’ll sew the covers at the airport. Southern California. La. I just don’t have mooney patterns for every plane. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Reviving an old thread. Anyone have any ideas for seat covers that aren't sheepskin but have the same summer-time effect? I've got sheepskin thanks to the previous owner ( @rainman ) but I just don't like the look (or the smell).. and I'm a vain person. The copilot seat has another rip in it and I'm just going to put a cover on it for now until I want to overhaul the seat.
  8. If you want a really nice look, you can have an upholstery shop make the upholstery with sheepskin inserts and the rest leather and just replace the existing covers.
  9. As noted above, Airtex is probably the most reliable way to go, but they won’t match your existing seats. An idea to consider would be sheepskin covers, if you bought 2 then at least your front seats would match. A lot of people really like them.
  10. Someone had used your post to advertise their sheepskin seats covers. After @Pinecone called them out they deleted the ad.
  11. I have a barely used set of Aerosheep sheepskin covers (including headrest cover) that I'd like to sell, I realize I will not have use for them again. They are light tan color.
  12. It's with mixed emotions that I list my Bravo ... but I had an opportunity to upgrade that I simply couldn't pass up. I have invested in this plane over the past two years to make everything perfect and planned to keep this for many years to come. The past two annuals at Cole Aviation and Top Gun, respectively, have been open checkbook make everything perfect affairs. I'll keep flying this in the near term, so times are subject to change. Come see it at the Santa Maria MAPA PPP program 4/5-7! I'll be flying it there. Also, for those seriously interested, I believe the W&B for the TKS was recorded incorrectly and there's actually another ~40lbs to gain if re-weighed, but I haven't gotten around to that. If interested reach out and I can explain more. A couple pictures I've included are before some recent updates listed below (LED lights, GMA350, & USB Ports) - I'll update with a new one ASAP. 1997 Mooney M20M Bravo w/ FIKI N2137E Serial #27-0230 Price: SOLD Airframe: 2417 TT Engine: 710 Since Factory Rebuild – Lycoming TIO-540-AF1B (0 Time Engine 2/1/2017) Propeller: 710 SMOH – McCauley B3D32C417D (Factory new 4/1997) Max Gross Takeoff Weight: 3368 pounds Basic Empty Weight: 2487 pounds Useful Load: 881 pounds Usable Fuel Capacity: 89 gallons Empty CG: 44.75 inches General: Aircraft located in Modesto, CA (KMOD) Last two annuals at Cole Aviation and Top Gun – Top MSC Maintained! 13. I have a pair of front seat Rocky Mountain Sheepskin Co. seat covers for a 1978 M20J. I purchased these new for over $700. I used them for about 6 months and decided to upholster the seats instead. These are very comfortable cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I am asking $500.
  14. Bring me the sheepskin and I can sew them for you.
  15. has anyone ever sent their sheepskin covers to the dry cleaner? or is the only way to clean these is by soaking in water etc... looking for the easy way out of just dropping them off and picking them up.
  16. I have four of these, I am willing to sell in pairs. They are like brand new, but don’t match my mew plane. one set has a hold cut for the arm rest, the other three are as new. Two of the buckle straps are broken, one on two of the seats but they aren’t really necessary anyway. The one that’s really needed is the once across the backs and these are fine. I also have headrest covers(all four) and seatbelt sleeves(only three of these). they sell new for $420 per seat before tax per cover with the headrest and seatbelt sleeve. I would think that $620 per set of two is fair. (Shipping is included to the upper 48) If interested let me know. (PS, you are asked on the website to select between front and rear seats but there is no difference and they are 100% interchangeable schllc@aol.com Or two 3nine two four 8 O nine 8 two
  17. As most things in aviation. It all costs more than we “think” or is that just want it to. There are other places to get work done and some may be great. Aero Comfort is a well known shop with a well deserved reputation. Their pricing was upfront ahead of drop off and didn’t change at the end. To some (me included) it was worth the cost. If others have recommendations and examples, it would be super helpful. The problem is that this is a low volume service (comparatively speaking) and it’s not like 4.9 stars on yelp is gonna help. If you’re spending a bit of money, my thinking is get a personal referral or go somewhere well known. Otherwise you might be happy or you might be disappointed. Both feeling grow over time. Probably not a bad thread to have…interior shops that are great. But I suspect you’d find the same as a google mooneyspace search…lots of happy Aero Comfort customers…whether that’s glareshields, yokes, seats or full interiors. If you’re trying to go less expensive, get a carpet kit from SCS, get some sheepskin seat covers, and check prices for Spatial Interior kit from Jaeger for sidewalls (or fix/patch/repair and repaint your own). another thought is to check with Hector about a local to them shop to take out and reinstall their work. Perhaps they haven’t ruled out the “turn key” completely and could steer you to a solid recommendation sans shipping…
  18. Looking for opinions on the best fitting sheepskin covers for my 1978 M20J front seats. Thanks Mark
  19. The owner is age 87 or 88 according to an online database. I will note two things, one of which may be unrelated to this accident: - Please make sure go arounds and Stall avoidance are part of your recurrent training, and even moreso as you age. - for your safety, please remove sheepskin seat covers if they’re *at all* in the way of your manual operation of the trim wheel. I don’t care if you have electric trim.
  20. Can confirm what was stated about aerocomfort. Called and spoke to Hector last week, and got on his schedule to get my yokes wrapped. Crazy expensive!! While we are all CB's at heart.. A friend of mine was blown away with the price I told him for the yokes. And then we were talking about my plans for getting the seats done next(now will be in 2025...). I still would like to get some sheepskin covers for the front seats. So have been hesitant in getting them re-covered with new leather, rather getting them re-foamed would be the more important factor. My friend asked why not just get some high quality memory foam or something, and get the sheepskin covers, and put the foam under those. Not sure how well that would all be secured down, but got me thinking. And so I guess, I am now curious what other's think about this. I don't think I would do it unless others have, and have had positive results. Thanks, Chris
  21. Just installed my new sheepskin seat covers and noticed they do not have holes for the headrest bars to go through. What do you use to make the holes? A slit with a sharp knife? A drill bit? A hole punch? Would hate to make a hole and have it continue to open up with strain of people sliding into the seat.
  22. My C is getting a interior makeover headliner down to the carpet. I’m thinking about using sheepskin covers on the front seats or sewing the material to the seating surface. Opinions on the sheepskin? Fit and finish of the covers? Thanks.
  23. I would be interested in the sheepskin seat covers, pending a picture of them. Basic mooney seats? Headrests?

  24. Never sat on one, seen em in many cockpits. Can someone explain to me why sheepskin seat covers are a thing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I like the idea of just using sheepskin as inserts without wrapping around the whole seat. Any ideas how to do that? I’ll check with a local interior shop.
