  1. I wasn’t able to get the exact length because the hoses are still mounted on the plane. I called Lasar and they told me they don’t stock many because of age concerns. They gave me the part number and told me they use Precision to make the hoses. They also gave me the contact information. Spoke to Precision and they will make up a set and have them to me by Friday. $147 for the set. Will do a PIREP when I get them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  2. Personally I think Scott has been abducted by Peter Garmin (BTW - where has he been lately? Oh wait I know, he is at the avionics shop waiting for his KFC 300 to be installed) and brainwashed. The first sign was him selling his Mooney for a Bonanza and now these comments. Clearly his thinking has been altered. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  3. I blame it all on Aspen. The resolution isn’t good enough. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  4. You need one of these bad boys. Makes easy work out of the screw removal and reinstallation process. https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DCF682N1-Gyroscopic-Inline-Screwdriver/dp/B011WRUODC/ref=sr_1_4?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1543272027&sr=1-4&keywords=dewalt+screwdriver Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  5. You would also think something this critical would have a double clamp on it to prevent the scenario if one of them did fail. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Based on what I am seeing looking at my system, you have a true mystery on your hands. The only thing that makes sense in the scenario you described is that if the valve failed internally and allowed hydraulic fluid to flow out to the brakes and not return. If something like that happened, it would be an interesting piece of FOD that restricted flow in one direction. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  7. You gotta get those seat belt covers in. You ain’t pimping without them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  8. Thanks for posting this. I am about to rebuild mine and this will come in handy. My parking brake has never, ever held the plane during run up. I had always just used the toe brakes. Since there is a slight leak there, I will rebuild it as I replace all of the hose and O rings in the system. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  9. I knew I saw them somewhere else. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  10. I bought a new leather interior after 28 years of cloth and learned quickly how hot leather gets in the mid Atlantic summers. Now I have sheepskin covers to cover a new leather interior. [emoji2957] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  11. Too funny! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  12. What the heck happened to the rest of your N number? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  13. We could be called the Pimp Brothers. All we need is the sheepskin fuzzy dice. [emoji1787] Looks great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  14. I agree with Larry on the #2 radio monitoring. Both radios have a monitoring feature. In order for the co-pilot only to hear the #2 radio, the comms need to be in split mode and the 255’s monitoring feature is turned on. With the 35, check to see if the pilot and co-pilot comms are split. If they are and both radios were set to the same primary frequency and the 255 was set to monitor, he will hear the ATIS and you wouldn’t hear anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  15. Your brakes may be similar to the one on my 75 F. I’m in the process of collecting parts to rebuild mine. The theory presented above about the system being pressurized might be something to look at. When I pulled the cap on my reservoir, I noticed it had a hole in it. I wonder if that hole got plugged would it pressurize the system. If that happened, you would think it would release that pressure when you descend. I would look at the cable. If it popped out, something doesn’t sound right. This is the parking brake in my plane. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  16. Thanks. I’ll ask Santa for the cable for Christmas. I saw the Costco deal on the 5 and picked up a second one at the sale price of $179. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  17. Here are LIVE views of them as Bruce prepares them. [emoji1787] Bruce uses a backing plate and 3M double sided tape plus tie wraps to secure it for side panels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  18. I’ll post a picture of what his industrial stuff looks like. It is not at all what you think Velcro will look like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  19. I think it depends on how it gets configured. I have the same question since the Aspen also has GPSS built in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  20. It’s actually $1995 to upgrade a PFD and another $1995 to upgrade a MFD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  21. Well, there might a Mooney owner or two who have a car/airplane story to tell. [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  22. Flap area pictures on a 75 F (before de-gunking) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  23. What wire clips? You got a picture? When Bruce Jaeger did my interior he used industrial hook and loop strips. I think it is the same stuff used in airline interiors. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  24. My original factory gauges were solid and didn’t bounce. Same for the JPI 900 with the original senders. Although I would periodically get a “fuel mismatch” error message on the JPI. This indicated that the report fuel quantity for that tank didn’t match what the system thought should have been in the tank. This mismatch came up as I was burning the tanks down to install the CiES senders. The correct quantity should have read 6 gallons. Not 21. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  25. Looking over the spec sheet on the 3100, it looks like it will interface with the G5 just like it currently does for an Aspen PFD. GPSS is built into the 3100, so you will have that capability. The big difference is that the Aspen PFD is slated to have an update done so that the IAS and altitude pre-select will be controlled on the Aspen in addition to the control pad for the 3100.
