  1. Getting back to original question...is that trailing edge strip ment to be bent?I would question once he has tweaked his elevator ,what happens to trim of stab? His second post also raises question as he states his elevator halves have been previously bent and swapped left to right during a repaint.Maybe time to get an expert with travel boards
  2. So if you are deflecting elevator downward...you would bend tab upward....opposite...however I agree with Anthony if you haven’t adjusted flt controls before
  3. Same here..I removed entire vac system from my Bravo ...all working when removed...for sale
  4. Both micro switches in the airspeed switch both go low (ground)when activated at 60 or so.Ive seen it used on AdsB installs requiring air/ground status
  5. The way I would calibrate the switch is to use an asi in line with switch and slowly pressurize with a rolled up surgical tubing hose till desired airspeed and measure switch closing with a multi- meter...should get it close. The large screw on face of airspeed switch is for calibrating I assume.Turn In to reduce airspeed activation
  6. Sure looks repairable...parts like the diaphragm can’t be that expensive
  7. Just my opinion..doable of course ,but no reserve at all for fatigue...not my choice to base ,especially if weather
  8. That’s very unusual loan terms...learn something every day
  9. You should read Mark Trail comic on AZcentral to learn your true history
  10. Jobs a knuckle buster.Recomend take old socks and cut in two.Slide on over wrists to prevent cuts and knocks.Held in place by odd size Allen 5/64??If you have Fiki tks .the supply tube partially blocks upper outboard screw.90 degree ratchet handle with 6 in extension turns it to just a couple hours a light.I did all 4....ouch..ps you will need a creeper that adjusts and gives back support in sitting position
  11. No biggie Baker, sorry to offend you...I was just pointing out 2 incorrect statements ,1 you thought mags “had power too them”in first post.2 you stated mags needed power to “jump start them”,were you thinking of field on an alternator?Regardless ,your dealing with pilots that have to diagram and have knowledge of how Magnetos work when they take their pvt pilot written. My comment was simply to point out these errors weaken your impressive practical trouble shooting knowledge in the eyes of a pilot customer you would be speaking to...carry on
  12. Here you go..
  13. You are incorrect, the mag do not require any outside power source. That shielded wire to ignition switch is to ground primary mag coil to not produce a spark. For an avionics specialist ,I’m surprised at this hole in your knowledge.Look up magneto construction on internet. No slight intended Baker, but repeating this belief in front of a customer will not impress them
  14. Now look at pvt Borges Clarksburg inside KSAC class D.Tower frequency is used to land at this airstrip.
  15. Similar situation.Approaching from the south and landing at Rio Linda ,NorCal sector frequency 125.25 will typically hold you at 2500 for ksac or 2600 for Mather taking you over the top of their class D if not landing. In your situation ,if you have not contacted approach on sector frequency before entering those Class D ,Than its contact tower for transition.
  16. I think of the long time friends I’ve lost and feel your pain. They can’t be replaced but memories live on when you find yourself smiling at some of the things they did.Best wishes for happy memories..
  17. Did you say mags? They are not connected to ships system bus at all...they are self generating
  18. I like the part about the bank robber who thought lemon juice on his face would make him invisible to security cameras
  19. Hi Robert...where do you base your F?There is a few of us from NorCal on MS...
  20. Think with 50,000 basic med pilots now,Mexico realized the economic value these older pilots bring to places like Serindad,Loreto,Punta Pescadero etc and has recognized what the Bahamas did 2 years ago.I believe Canada will be next.Flying to Baja and other parts of Mexico ,probably is the safest way to get down there avoiding lonely roads and possible ambush.I recall when we hired that mini bus driver to take us South to Loreto for the day ,Paul,I was most concerned during the road block checks. Those guys looked scary!
  21. I purchased my Bravo in oct of 2009.At that time,we were in the midst of the housing bubble financial crisis,Mooney aircraft company had ( I think 11 employees)been scraping by mfding parts .My 2001 model was on the line ,unfinished and unpainted since December of 2000 when the line Also was shut down.Mooney has had a foreign owner in the past (French).Past experience hopefully will predict the future of this company. One thing Chinese investors did was provide a lot of new equipment ,replacing presses from the fifties.Ignore quote,no idea where it came from
  22. I remember flying down and joining “Baja Busch” kortopates for whale watching...great times!...lastest events in Sonora give me pause though...
  23. Spent the day on the Midway, many stories from mostly Vietnam vets...day and night traps, desert storm flag ship,Apollo recovery vessel...
  24. That’s right!...Sleeper,he drove arround in a comical egg mobile!
