  1. Inversely he also knows everything..... As far as the video , what type or Girdle springs do the pretty assistants wear...
  2. The add on will take a good 10 to 12 hours work , you will have to remove the two outboard cells to remove the blanking plates , drill out the ribs for the tubes , reposition the vents and the ice masts , and cut the holes in the skins to install the bladders..... It is a lot of work......
  3. A faceplate wont fix the selector knobs , nor does it come with them unfortunately......
  4. Sounds like the wing leveler , as it is only with the A/P engaged ..... Probably a century I or II ... they are built into the turn coordinator....Might be time to call A/P central in tulsa....
  5. Just plain broke....
  6. I love when Awful Charlie chimes in......Dont give a crap what he says.... Just love his Avatar!!!!
  7. I think they are 20s , They are good for two people for a three hour flight , low teens......Most of the time I use it I dont need it legally , but it reduces fatigue bigtime......And no headache from say an hour or two at 10000 feet.....
  8. I just take it to a medical gas supplier , 11.00 i think...... Hell I bought both bottles , regulator , cannulas , and bag for 100 brand new on EBAY a few tears ago.......It doesnt say airox in it but it works fine.....
  9. During my initial training with a C/S prop the instructor pulled the prop lever back when doing a simulated emercency landing , and it felt like releasing the parking brake on a car....Big difference...
  10. It is my understanding that that bulletin increases the preloads....
  11. Wait for a hot 90 degree summer day....It will soften up...
  12. Actually thats the way they work.... Probably the result of trying to shove 10 lbs of shit into a three lb bag....
  13. Yours....... When it is on the ground , notice the aileron travel in the yoke.... Than do it in the air..... Or next time they swing the gear would be more safe...
  14. What is the lenghth of a flap... Thanks...
  15. One of the big used plane dismantelers is selling parts of a Mooney TKS system currently on EBAY.... Take a look...
  16. M20E 10.2 GPH ROP 150 KIAS , S35 14.3 GPH ROP 160 KIAS, I intentionally do not calculate my operating costs , as I might not fly anymore if I did...
  17. One thing to consider , when the gear is extended (down) the aileron travel is reduced about 30% by the gear belcrank.....
  18. Make sure he is using the correct restrictor in the compression gage.....(continentals use a restrictor in the gage) .....Also low 60s in not out of range for a continental....
  19. I am in the buisness of repairing cars , and it always amazes me how experienced techs can overthink things...........9 out of ten times it is something very simple.........Fuse , tires, battery, etc etc .......7 out of those are usually misdiagnosed as something more complicated...... Then the poor customer gets the excuse that it needed that too....... You always start with the basics...... Good job.....
  20. No one will buy ad space unless it is basically shoved down our throats , That is a reality , Use Beechtalk as a template and you will do great......As the factory slowly dies , you may want to get the big MSCs and Lasar and the like to become corporate sponsers......Also you might want to have a resource page that has parts suppliers , insurance agents, aviation attorneys and the like to sell ad space in , on top of the banners in the threads......... If this takes off maybe we could even have fly in maintence clinics and training seminars like the Beech boys do......
  21. I should have been more specific ... No instrument rating.....
  22. I know of some idiot (guess who) who descended through 11000 feet of solid imc , broke out at 800 agl , scudded to an airport , and put 47 gallons in a cherokee 140....... Back in the 90s....
  23. You have to call brittain , the earlier models use a servo in the cockpit , not the wings.....I have a whole system from an E including accutrack that I would sell a lot cheaper than 3k...
  24. I did some really stupid shit early on in my flying...... I am very lucky I didnt kill myself , strike that EXTREMELY lucky......... I remind myself of this everytime I fly.....
