  1. Check this out , the Bell X-14 is made out of Bonanza and T34 parts..... Where can I buy the STC !!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_X-14
  2. I will follow the early version of the bulletin , but I am not buying 500.00 worth of arms unless an AD is issued.....
  3. The avionics master is set up to fail closed , in other words if any part of the avionics master circuit fails it turns on the avionics bus.....The problem is usually one of the two relays behind the circuit breakers .....
  4. The arms for a Bonanza are the same for mix and throttle , list from TCM is 251 each....
  5. Just spoke to the guys in mobile....It is not an AD therfore not mandatory , the few instances where they have failed , it is believed to be a maintence induced failure ,
  6. I have an Accutrak II andBI 85 valve , Will upgrade any wing leveler (brittain) to track two nav sources.....
  7. Yes buy Jose' isnt everything going to be up on the G500 ???
  8. I am getting temped to take a closer look at the G500 for my plane , Does the G500 have GPSS and can it be married to a Century III, Is 20K a realistic goal for that system , Should I Trade the 530W down to a 430W to free up space to put the autopilot control in the center stack and put the JPI830 over the control arm (Beech) ..... Any input would be appreciated....
  9. The Starship was on the leading edge of composite and computer design when it came on to the market , unfortunately the faa would not certify it unless it was designed with about three times the materials it really needed .....With no real "heavy" composite airframes to lay the groundwork , the feds really killed the program before it began....Eventually Beech tried to buy back all of them , but there are a few still out there flying...The Starship was the first all composite(carbon fiber) civillian aircraft , and the first all glass cockpit.......Pretty impressive for a 1970s design........The chase plane for Rutans spaceship one was a Beech Starship......
  10. F.S.D.O. time??????
  11. Peoples !!!!!! Green is not hot .... The red is hot...... Its either in the red , or in the green......Don't overthink it.......You want oil temps at least in the 200 range , If it doesnt get hot enough to turn the condensation in the case to steam... The condensation in the case mixes with exhaust gases , and turns to acid.........Think about it.....
  12. The thielert diesels are automotive engines.......Although the first three letters in the word diesel...........are really scary...........Kind of like the cessna engine....0-320 H2AD.......
  13. I use a manual towbar for the Mooney , But if I have to drag it across the airport I "borrow" my IAs quad..........The beech is too honkin heavy to drag with a manual bar......Have a lug bug if needed....Both spots are in a place where I can taxi it into place , but if the grass is wet , its a pain in the ass pushing it back....
  14. Jerry Pressley , or Brent Pressley , Brents cell was 423 273 3557...... Its a few years since I've called for something , give him a shout..... He probably will have a wing too if you want to go that route....
  15. Thats the dynamic balance , and I know that it will feel smoother , But the harmonics are what play into counterbalancing and what not..... I am not an engineer , can one of our engineering types explain it to us in simple terms???
  16. I know there are a lot of issues that have to do with swinging a prop , You would think if the prop was dynamically balanced , it would be Ok , but than why do non counterbalanced lycomings break prop tips off??? I never understood the nuances of harnonics as it deals with swinging a prop , aparently its not as simple as it sounds....
  17. I think a lot of the mooneys come with a variant of the 550N which has the two small valve covers , not the one big one .....Its wierd I have a an IO 520 BA and it is not in the bulletin...
  18. I've never seen a a set of matched castings (case ,pump, etc ) that did not have a dowel setup ......I guess I havent been working on planes long enough....
  19. Auto repair shop owner , Specializing in German imports , Part time repair engineer on Seimens MRIs and Toshiba CT scanners , (weekends)
  20. Someone said that you cant justify it financially , If it was about the finances , I think we all would have another less expensive hobby....
  21. Angel flight , and the Pet rescue flights are deductible also , Might want to look into that also...
  22. Go ahead ... Make my day!!!
  23. I watched the guys at Airmods do it once , wasnt too bad , but didnt look as easy as most , I think the determining factor is the wing is basically one piece, you cant split it........I hope I never have to take a wing off my beech , but if I do its 4 nuts , wires and cables.....
  24. Thats why I fly at a lower power setting......The fuel get upsetting...
  25. Here is the quote from the ground hog day ..... I was flogging it , I was 24 square 1500 to 2500 , and when I saw you getting close to my 3 I bumped it up to 2500 rpm 24 MP...... I was surprised you didnt overtake me , you must have been at a lower power setting......I was actually going to close in to a tight formation , but I didnt know what your comfort level was and we were on with atc so I couldnt call you..... The bonanza is stupid fast , at that power setting , I would have been almost 30 + knots faster...
