  1. Here is the quote from the ground hog day ..... I was flogging it , I was 24 square 1500 to 2500 , and when I saw you getting close to my 3 I bumped it up to 2500 rpm 24 MP...... I was surprised you didnt overtake me , you must have been at a lower power setting......I was actually going to close in to a tight formation , but I didnt know what your comfort level was and we were on with atc so I couldnt call you..... The bonanza is stupid fast , at that power setting , I would have been almost 30 + knots faster...
  2. Wow... You cant read either.....who did you pay to take your written for you......everytime you I think you couldnt be any dumber , you prove me wrong.....Hats off to you RJ......
  3. No sparectomy , Those stringers run half the whole lenghth of the wing........A huge undertaking , used will be the way , if it needs to be replaced...
  4. They are screwed into a locking nut/plate type thing , how could it fall out in flight???
  5. That is not actually the spar , that is the stringer that works like a spar cap.... It doesnt look that bad , I think any older mooney would have a little somewhere under the old sealant , can it be scotchbrited and alodined??? It doesnt look that deep....
  6. Can I get a set for the "Bonanza" LOL
  7. I saw a guy do the lower splice plates in the plane , looked like a lot of work.......I cant remember what they are called , but mooney uses a lot of fasteners that are not rivets , that make it a lot easier to work on the spar , They are a stainless headless bolt with a breakaway nut .....They are a lot more expensive than rivets.....
  8. I love anything with wings.....My E does have a J cowling , perhaps I just dont run it that hard , 24 square nets 140 on the airspeed indicator ... Maybe I am doing something wrong......Maybe it needs to be rigged.....Funny thing , it is not any faster than my B model was ,although it burns less fuel at that speed, but the B had every speed mod..... The E only has the SWTA Cowl mod......
  9. I've seen spar corrosion repairs done on stringers and splice plates , anything other than splice plates , and you are removing the wing and jigging it......probably starting around 15K + Personally I would really have to love a plane a lot to go that far........from a strictly dollars and sense point , its probably a part out....... A used wing , is in the 5 to 8 K price point.....and a lot of labor.... The Pressleys in Morristown Tenn. buy Mooneys in all different states of dissarray.....
  10. I have to settle this once and for all , The quote RJ is referring to is in the "ground hog day" post where I said that the Bonanza is 30 knots faster than my M20E at a given power setting , My E is not as fast as a J it is a 140 knot airplane , Im really getting tired of kicking this horse around with RJ .... also My Bo is not a 550 engine , it is a 520 ...285 horse ......
  11. Speed mod? Nah.... But they look really cool , and save you from messing around w/jacking points...
  12. The 830 is not certified as primary , where the 930 is....
  13. Actually , its an S35 , not a V35 and this pic is for You RJ !!!
  14. Why didnt they fish out the broken piece with a magnet???? It is steel ? no????
  15. Not quite 190 , well into the 175 180 range , When I used to fly a J model , it was about 145 to 150 , that is what I am using for a reference , I have a 64 S35 , supposedly the fastest of the N.A. Bonanzas..... I never run it that hard though , usually run it at about 160....
  16. Ben I officially offer 6000.00 for the 530...
  17. Speed Mod.... LOL
  18. I have one just like it......(only much bigger)
  19. Did you look up STCs on FAA.GOV ?? Maybe some relief there...
  20. Look up the TCDS on FAA.GOV , if its not applicable , Call Lasar , they probably can help.... On my B model , it came with a McCauley , but the TCDS allowed a Hartzell good luck...
  21. It is going to be less expensive to buy a used seat , They are readily available.... I just sold a set for 200.00 ......I wish I had one to sell you...
  22. I thought a gami spread had nothing to do with actual egt temps , but the times at which they peak in relation to each other measured by fuel flow......Please correct me if I am incorrect....
  23. It sounds like a great deal....He is giving you top dollar for the trades ....When you consider that he has to stand behind the radios when he sells them , he is not making a lot on the trades , Just using them to make the money on the GTN sale..... I would jump on it...... Good luck....
  24. I always stall on landing , Once I get it pitched in ground effect , the horn sounds about 1 second before the mains touch.....
