  5. At the Georgetown fly in a gentleman with an M20C was complaining of hot chts , as I was inspecting his airplane , I noticed he had no linkage to the cowl flaps , and was setting them manually (fixed) ... He has the ATI cowl closure , Is this part of the STC , or is this really screwed up???? I have never seen a short body Mooney with fixed cowl flaps....
  6. I'm going with Mike....(scared )
  7. The angle of the dangle , is directly inverse to the mass of the ass..
  8. Can I work the files Pete????? Mike is frugal , and will opt out of anestesia , therefore it could actually be fun....Thereby squashing the myth " about as fun as root canal".....
  9. It is wired incorrectly....But if it works , leave it alone...
  10. I have a good used one if you want it..
  11. I could host a maintenance clinic at south jersey , We could do oil changes , and trouble shoot stuff , and stick scotch tape on mikes AOA ports....
  12. I have flown this many times...Easier than requesting Bravo clearance , a real non issue....

  14. I don't see a 10000 hour pilot as inexperienced....How many sim hours did he have in type , ......It will be interesting to see what happened and why .......I will let the "experts here " blame this and that , go ahead and throw stones......I personally will wait for the NTSB report....
  15. Oohhh should I take notes???
  16. If I need a ride , can someone pick me up at KVAY and drop me off at Chormans , Mooney is in the paint shop , and may be done by sat....
  17. Horizon should have no effect on sandel , I had same issue , and it was a programming issue.....
  18. The oil temp is much cooler than the air temp in the crankcase , the oil is used to cool as well as lubricate , when the engine is running at a percentage of HP that is significant , not only does it boil out the existing moisture , but it keeps the air in the case from condensing moisture when its running....also the condensate that gets in from sitting , doesn't mix with exhaust gases unless you run it.....So if you run it run it flying for a minimum of 30 minutes...
  19. It happens , but it is not common , I bought a bird that was hangered for 18 years withoutr being flown , on a field overhaul.....65 hours in and it runs like a top....Cams dont always go because of rust......that being said , if you cant afford to overhaul the engine , you probably should be renting , these things break , and you should be prepared for major expenses at any given time, that way if there is no problem , than no problem....
  20. Camguard Schmamguard.......You need to get it hot enough to boil off the moisture , or the water mixes with byproducts of combustion and makes acid...That would be oil temps of at least 180 190 degrees....
  21. 17N is Cross keys , one of the busiest skydiving operations in the country....
  22. I think the expansion is so aircraft can come straight in to philly , instead of the goofy patterns they use.......I for one will not complain too much , as the heavys usually turn a base over my house about ten miles out.....My home drome will now be under Bravo airspace , so I will have to get clearance to climb out in a southerly / westerly direction....
  23. They are supposed to run these up in an area where they wont roll into something......Talk about being ahead of the airplane....
