  1. I read the probable cause , It was a mud dauber had clogged all the fuel vents....Reguardless of all the other fucked up stuff with the aircraft , it was a wasp that crashed that plane , I probably would have missed that one too... Also it was a ferry flight , not an aircraft actively being sold......Very Sad......
  2. Can you forward that to me , I never heard of that one , and spoke to Brent this year , so it must have been pretty recent...
  3. I still don't get the Jerry bashing , Who really thinks they are going to get an airplane for a half to two thirds the market value , and it be just as good as market.... Most of these people only bitch when it comes time to sell....
  4. Wow , A technical answer to the age old question "Is a frogs ass watertight??"
  5. I think a washer on the end is required for the rod end , but much safer than the ball socket...
  6. You are one very very lucky guy.......Go buy a lottery ticket.....
  7. Why put hub caps on retracts.....just Saying....
  8. In my shop when I am slow , we clean up or anything to keep my employees on the clock.....They don't reap the rewards when I am busier than usual , and they certainly should not suffer when I am not profitable, They are there for me , and I am there for them.....I applaud Paul for this..... Also for those Parting out Mooneys , Dan in parts will buy cores from you ........ Lasar is a great company , and when MAC goes totally under , he will probably be the top supplier of parts...... Bravo to Lasar.....
  9. Could be a bad spider , or servo.....That's why you check the EGT fuel flow spread...
  10. Signature is by far the best engine shop on the face of the planet... I can not elaborate more on that ....Secondly I think it is foolish to fly an engine with a sticky valve....(morning sickness) if it acts up on take off , or a go around you could be screwed .........Its telling you there is a problem.....They don't fix themselves....
  11. The wind generally comes from the west , If the airplane is on the West coast of Fla within ten or so miles , it will have more of a likelihood of corrosion issues , where as if it is a few miles inland on the east side of Fla it will most likely not have corrosion issues...
  12. Unfortunately , people will not accept responsibility when they damage a car .... Im in the business , I see it all the time...Caveat emptor do your due diligence.....You sign a condition report , check the car out.....If you cant check out the car , take a cab , or buy their insurance.......
  13. Champion has made more spark plugs than any other plug company ever , they have been doing this for about 100 plus years.....If you people would take the time to read the posts and analyze the facts you would see that it is not the plugs.....If you don't know why there is a problem , than just don't blame the parts because they are a certain brand which you personally don't like.... I personally would switch plugs and see what happens , He did and the problem did not follow the plug.....I would secondly do a egt peak test (Gami test ) and see what the spread is , if it is more than .7 GPH I would swap injectors and see what happens.....Also what is the compression ? how can you try to diag an engine problem without checking the Basics??? (compression , Timing , egt peaks , etc etc...) also check the bolts and the O rings on the intake pipes for leaks......
  14. Do you guys want me to post this up on Beechtalk??
  15. I am glad I switched , dont really care about "appeal"
  16. I am wrapping up the remaining parts on this C model....I have all flight control surfaces in very good condition... Regards...
  17. Who cares.... I have a prop pastie...
  18. If that is a cruise setting , that is normal...
  19. The 3 blade is considerably more quiet...
  20. The TAT (tornado ally turbos) are far superior to the factory turbos..
  21. I have one for a Beech , Seems to be a consortium of riding lawnmower parts and stuff you could make with a mig welder....
  22. The TAT A36 is probably the most realistic option , Eventually they upped the ramp weight to 4000 MGTOW ....Keep in mind to run those weights you will use A LOT of runway to get airborne..... A major benefit to the Beech airframe is there are probably more STCs than any other aircraft..... Speedwise at altitude it seems the Beech and Mooney turbos are comparable....
  23. I switched from a Macauley 2 blade , to a hartzell 3 blade , Granted it was on my Beech , but this is what I found.....No real discernible difference in cruise , Different feel that took a good month to get used to..Little bit of increased climb performance.... The Main reason I switched , was my Macauley gave up the Red dye , and I didn't want to sink 2K into resealing a 40 year old prop , I bought a 5 year old (new in 07) prop for 3500 , Doing the math , after I sold the old prop for 1000 and figuring 2000 for a reseal , it was a no brainer to upgrade , One thing that I have not seen is this.... IT TAKES LESS RUNWAY TO GET AIRBORNE........ I think that the cruise difference is less pronounced with 300 HP verses 180 HP...
  24. I wish I could land the mooney like the Beech...The Beech is the second easiest plane I have ever landed .... The Mooney must be flown until it is almost stopped....
  25. Well how about this , there is a spec for elevator travel , but what is the spec for horizontal stabilizer travel and limits.... It must have to deal with leveling the plane...
