    You may have a "leaky" transmitter , I would check the shielding / grounding on all the transmitting antennas......Pay close attention to the DME and Transponder as they transmit constantly , The DME whenever on , and the transponder , whenever interrogated.....

    I did a crash and dash , bent the prop tips back an inch.....Got distracted buy a gust in the flare , went around and fell from the checklist.....The rest is History.... I am now an "Official" member of the Order of bended blades .... I have Smited the earth with my blade , and My friend Chris gave me a plaque that certifies me as a member , when I find it I will post a pic....

    I have replaced huck bolts and Hilocs on the spar before , and surprisingly they are not pressed in (or interference fit) I was actually surprised that they were not .......

    If you read between the lines , you realize two things , 1) the wing did indeed fail , 2) the event must have been extremely short , ... You cant remain conscious at 12 Gs without a G suit , when a wing fails , the strength is compromised ...... This guy is the luckiest guy in the world , I wonder if the 10 K loss of altitude was from a loss of consciousness , or a stall spin event , or a combination of both.....I also wonder if the damage was from the turbulence or the recovery..... Pretty scary stuff....

    If his panel is stock , it has a 2 inch turn coordinator , very hard to find in 12 volt.....

    If the MX 20 has no lines in the screen it is worth keeping , The Charts can be enabled with just a card , The GMX 200 Charts are enabled with a dongle in the tray , If the MX 20 has two connectors in the back it is an IO box and can display traffic and Radar and is HIGHLY desireable.....

    Don't waste money on the belly , it is not a "real" speed mod , it will take a full week to modify the new pan , and it takes two people to remove and replace at annual.....With a power drill driver , you can have the metal skins off in a half hour......There are currently a set of nose doors on ebay , they are new but not overlapping....Let me know what ADF you have , and I may have an antenna.....and I also have a bucket of good antennas if you wasted any other antennas.....Good luck.......Alan 856 419 5209.....

    The door prop is 50 plus shipping , the scoop is 80 plus shipping , and the vents are 80 plus shipping , The price reflects the hour it will take to carefully drill out the rivets for the roof items , and the door prop will come with all the hardware I can remove that it attaches with...     Yves is probably correct , these are not tubeless tires , and you probably need a tube , but if you want a nosewheel , its yours for 125.00 plus shipping....

    The logs said 5000 + , also it had a snowbank accident in 86 , and a full teardown and new prop in 09 (I think) you don't do a full teardown for hitting a taxi light , it probably had a gear up that didn't make the logs.... Still it went for less than 29K so priced accordingly to sell quickly.....

    You guys should do a little research before you shoot your mouths off , The plane and about 7 other pristine examples of ww2 aircraft are owned by Thomas Duffy who by the way flys them all , A hard landing or stuck brake in our Mooneys results in a bounce or taking out a taxi light .... Try it in a P47 , or a P51 , TBM , Widgeon , Spitfire , B25 , of any other of Toms aircraft......

    If it makes any one feel better , I had almost 50 K or better in a B model I had for 4 years , I sold it for 34K , we do these things out of insanity......The only plus is I get to hear stories on occasion about my old plane , from the current owner...... My "Frankenstien" Mooney went to a fellow Mooneyspacer....

    The only mod that gives any signifigant increase is the cowl mod , everything else is inconsequential.....
