  6. Unfortunately the Mooney uses a LOT or steel fasteners in the wings especially near the caps , which causes a mooney wing to be more succeptible to corrosion...(dissimilar metals)
  7. No part of any mooney panel is structural....The roll cage is the structure ....which is what the panel is fastened to...
  8. I just looked at the EI stc , and it states , That it is for advisory info only , meaning that it is not certified primary....STC and TSO have absolutely nothing top do with an instrument being primary......Also just because an item is not on the TCDS does not mean it is not required.....
  9. I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt here , But I have cut these up before...the wings weigh about 90 lbs each , don't think that they are indestructible , they are not....They are the equivalent to the strength of an egg , one imperfection in the wrong place , and the whole structure fails, and it fails miserably.....
  10. Water tmeps are in the low 70s , Hypo didn't kill them.....
  11. Under normal use maybe not , but load up the wing and EVERY component of the wing is stressed , and corrosion on a spar cap will cause a failure , its just a matter of how much and when....
  12. Flaky powder wont condemn a wing , pits in a spar will.....Thats academic...
  13. Inertial nav is common on airliners , They all pretty much have it (laser gyros) and they are unbelievably accurate , I have been told that they can fly thousands of miles and land within about a hundred feet of where they are supposed to be......They are very expensive , and they work by shooting light into a gas.....
  14. Here is the perfect angle....

At the Georgetown fly in a gentleman with an M20C was complaining of hot chts , as I was inspecting his airplane , I noticed he had no linkage to the cowl flaps , and was setting them manually (fixed) ... He has the ATI cowl closure , Is this part of the STC , or is this really screwed up???? I have never seen a short body Mooney with fixed cowl flaps....
