  1. I know when there is not enough "meat" on the case halves , they just weld them up and remachine them , not sure if this is limited...
  2. You will never get 6 to 7 K for a case , you can buy new for that , The last case I sold was for 1400 dollars from a E model that was overhauled , but no paperwork , as far as your case goes Diveco can make a case from a roll of aluminum foil , they are that good , people wont buy a case from a scrapper , dont ask me why but they wont , unless you sell it for 100 or 200 dollars , people in aviation are just cheap.....I sold a 300 SMOH engine o360 from a C model , and was lucky to get 10 K for it , watch ebay , watch the engines listed for 16 K that have been listed for 2 + years , and then tell me what they are worth..... I think Divco will give between 800 to 1200 for that case , and it is found money , I would try to trade it for the work on your case , you might come out ahead.....
  3. They havent made the Macauley since the 60s , the blades don't exist anymore , The best way to get a newer prop is to find a Scout owner who did the MT upgrade , you will have to get a spinner and have the blades cut 2" but it will work well....I sold a B hub Hartzell last year for 5500.00 ...... Good luck....
  4. There is an AD for valve springs I think which renders the engine scrap.....
  5. You guys are forgetting the hardest part of this equasion , SWITCHING TANKS !!!
  6. I have done this on a B model before , You will need the donuts , the Stack tubes , the top large washers , and the collars , All the other hardware is the same and can be reused , Your goodyear donots are over 30 years old......The Lords came out in 65 , and they stopped making the goodyears in the 70s ....As far as the bracket , you are going to grind off about a 1/4" from the front casting as described in the bulletin , no brackets needed......The hardware is easy to find , and is the same for (I think) all post 65 mooneys...
  7. OK Rob I will take the wife , but only if you throw in the plane for free......
  8. Kurt , good luck on your interview , whoever gets that "B" is going to love it.....
  9. Sell it to Divco , fast nickels , beat the hell out of slow dimes , also there is no liability or responsibility aspect when you sell to a repair station...
  10. Call me at 856 419 5209 , I have a whole bucket of them....
  11. Im sure someone can find a "knob"
  12. Brittain Accutrack and BI805 valve......You can wait two years and buy from Brittain , or you can buy mine , sorry , no tray 1000.00 Call Alan 856 419 5209....
  13. I landed my B well beyond the demonstrated crosswind many many times , really didn't notice a difference between that and the E in that respect , (with the original rudder travel)
  14. Looking for a KRA 10 /KI 250 radar altimeter , KX165 w/gs 28 volt -25 Alan 856 419 5209....
  15. Looking for a KRA 10 /KI 250 radar altimeter , KX165 w/gs 28 volt -25 Alan 856 419 5209....
  16. you need to figure on the airframe and make model specific parts at ZERO dollars , They don't sell if ever....Generic parts avionics , engines , wheels, brakes are parts that you can bank on and sell quickly , Do not estimate on what a part is worth , it is only worth what you can sell it for ...IE it doesn't matter what people are asking for it , do advanced search on ebay for SOLD items to get an Idea on values....Also don't expect to get what wentworth is getting , who would YOU rather buy from me or wentworth ???? Believe me its wentworth , if there is a problem with his part , there are 5 others behind it in a wharehouse somewhere..... Don't waste your time with salvage auctions , I have bid over a hundred and got none..... The best finds are on the airports ......If you are not mechanically inclined , or don't have signifigant tools and a truck , don't waste your time.....And don't get emotionally involved......If you do ypou will lose money........Good luck....
  17. Actually like it or not the ultimate responsibility is with the pilot in command , I do think that this is going to be a Crank failure , There is an AD on lycoming crankshafts for fixed pitch props , that has to do with corrosion pitting on the inner bore of the crank , It is not pertinent on constant speed props as they are filled with engine oil ....
  18. It could be a failed crankshaft as well..
  19. So I guess its the mechanics fault if the prop or crank fails....great attitude.....
  20. Don in the 70s mooney started sealing the wings during assembly , as opposed to after , these are far superior to the earlier mooneys , but they usually seep from the rear of the tank at the main spar next to the gear ...From you guessed it hard landings , soft landings and keeping the tanks full will make them last longer , also gear discs every ten years or so will increase longevity as far as tank sealing goes....
  21. Have a clean glare shield from C model 100 plus shipping , Alan 856 419 5209....
  22. Just to clarify , I spoke to Bill Wheat about this and he gave it his Blessing (6 years ago) may not be legal , I am not an expert , If installed correctly by a professional not unsafe...
  23. Phil . you can replace the last bellcrank in the rudder rod "train" to get the extra throw on the rudder for the B , easy retrofit.....
