  1. I have one , I will try to post a pic later on....
  2. Yes and an agreement , and subsequent payment constitutes a contract , and gross negligence constitutes fraud.... A PPI is not an opinion , it is an inspection , not an opinion , Also , if the party that did the PPI has liability insurance , you may have a claim.....but still probably not financially lucrative.....

  4. The owner is responsible to have the aircraft maintained , not to perform the maintenance , Dave entrusted (and contracted) a so called professional to perform this maintenance , Dave was defrauded by the contractor because the contractor did not perform the maintenance that he was paid to do.......Yes there is a case here , but it will cost 40K to get a 25 K judgment........against a party , that probably has few assets........the math doesn't work , the damage is done.......
  5. I am sure that Dave does not need a history lesson on his mistakes , they are in the past.... The point here is to help out and give advise to help him.... MOVING FORWARD...... Dave unless you are a litigator , legal action will not be satisfying , and it will be financially prohibitive....F.A.A. enforcement will give a temporary warm fuzzy feeling , but it will be only temporary , repairing the wing yourself is not a realistic option.....replacing the wing is the only real option to saving the airframe.....Before you do anything on the repair end you better make dam sure that there are no other corrosion issues in the cage and remaining structures..... And DONT fly it , its not even close to airworthy ,
  6. You wont get a ferry permit.......
  7. As far as a PPI , you should be spending about 500.00 for an inspection...... It should take about 6 Hours , 1 hour in the logbooks , while a helper is pulling inspection panels , and interior panels , another hour to pull plugs and do a compression check , 3 hours for actual inspection , using flashlights , mirrors , scopes , etc etc ,and an hour to reassemble , and to ops check all the systems....... No time should be wasted tidying up the "little things" that will waste your time, its not your airplane.....All time should be spent on inspecting and assessing.....The lower splice is a common area for corrosion , as is the exposed rear spar in the wheel wells ...... I personally do not believe that there was no evidence of extensive corrosion on this airframe from the pictures.... Unless this aircraft was parked next to charging batterys or had some type of electrolytic fluid spilled in the back seat , That corrosion took years to acquire..... A cursory look at an airframe is what you use to decide to warrant a PPI , it is not a PPI ...... The thing that really BOTHERS me is the complete lack of accountability of the previous owner ....... That airplane is NOT safe to fly....... Not even close.........
  8. I got a 201...
  9. No offense , but no way in hell the seats are not pulled in a PPI....if not why even bother......
  10. I parted out a 63 C last year with about 1 eighth the corrosion in the spar under the tank sealant.... The feds are not going to grant a ferry permit , I have been through it , That is real bad corrosion....I personally would not fly it......That being said moving forward .... You can sell the engine fairly quickly for about 12 K , if it has the new style hub , you can get about 5 K for the prop , there are about 2000 dollars worth of cores you can sell to Lasar , and walk away without any debt......If there is that much corrosion on that wing , there is probably that much more in other places well hidden that you cant see......This is not the type of repair that you would attempt yourself , I don't care what any one else says , structural sheet metal is an ART , if you don't do it for a living , you cant do a good job.....There is no room for error in this type of work....... Also If you decide to part it out , don't pull the engine until it is sold.....It is an advantage to selling an engine if the buyer can come and run it.......
  11. The Ovation and Acclaim airframes are of the same lineage , Mooney is back in production , The delays should be a non issue moving forward ..... These airframes are pretty robust , should not be a parts whore, but only time will tell ....
  12. Oh the humanity...(of the stinky pants)
  13. I flew the Global Express....
  14. I saw Ed at Sun N Fun , I didn't ask the questions about the Continental testing , But I took a camguard sticker and asked if he wanted me to stick it on petes plane......He declined to answer , but said if I did , I could get some free Camguard...........WHAT TO DO !!!!!!!!......
  15. Is Mike bringing his stinky pants???
  16. No offense Don , but we all have 14" penises...... The tube length is inconsequential...... Who died????
  17. My B model had the round windows , when it was painted last , they painted in black , the silhouette of the square windows , ... Looks just like the later Models .....
  18. I put the throttle in all the way in both when I prime before start , The Cont is much easier to start hot , The Cont can run Autogas , The mooney can not , The Deb is much easier to fly and Land....
  19. My guess is that Cotinental will provide an unbiased opine from the data they collect , as far as long term projections , I am sure TCM has test data already(without Camguard) , that they can use as a control , and then project out the results based on the control data Vs. the new data .... Not rocket science....(unless they use a rocket conversion) haha....
  20. I think it is noble that Continental is willing to at least look at this , but until I see proof from a company like Continental or Lycoming , its all just speculation to me......I hope it does work.......
  21. A far cry from the ludicrous statements that Continental will not honor warranty claims unless Camguard is used......A FAR CRY !!!!
  22. Now now boys ..... BEHAVE !!!!!
