  1. I love MooneySpace and those of you who have been here a long time have probably noticed my postings have dropped the last few months. I'm proud to say that my family is growing and doing well. In April, my wife gave birth to our son and my daughter turned two in June. It's been an amazing few years and I'm thrilled to have the support of my wife to attend Oshkosh this year. I look forward to seeing who's around on Wednesday and Thursday. Should we have a third child, we'll have to add an aircraft to the fleet with more than 4 seats now that every seat is claimed!! My wife said the second aircraft needs to be pressurized!! We don't plan to sell the Mooney. Now that we are getting a bit more sleep as the little guy is about to turn three months, you'll see me posting again more often. The Mid-Atlantic breakfast flights will resume. And I hope you all sign up for Mooney Summit!! -Seth
  2. Welcome and congrats! I owned a 67F! Great airplane. I'll PM you for email and contact information and add you to the breakfast flights I organize for the Mid Atlantic. -Seth
  3. Wish I could attend but can't! Happy Independence Day and I promise to make it back to UKT at some point!! Last time was 2014. -Seth
  4. The group I'm camping with cannot guarantee I can get there and if the field is closed to camping Wednesday morning it's a moot point. Next year (or next time) I'll try to arrive earlier in the week to park with the group. Odd Oshkosh rules. -Seth
  5. I WILL be at Oshkosh for the first time since 2009 and the first time with my Mooney Missile. I will arrive Wednesday morning early, and depart Friday at dawn. I will make sure to stop by the Caravan tent. I'll be camping in the north 40 with a group from KGAI but will park elsewhere on the field. -Seth
  6. Welcome to the mid-Atlantic. I'll PM you to get contact info and add you to the local email lists for breakfast / lunch flights and other various get togethers. -Seth
  7. I think it's a neat challenge, but I'd be worried about fatigue. 37 landings is a lot in one day, especially with distance between airports on the way. Hot day, cold day, windy, etc . . . I've had 10-15 landings in one day, but not 37. -Seth
  8. Paul- My identifier is listed so I should already be on there - but if not it's Seth at KGAI. Please send me the link. Thanks and Great Job! -Seth
  9. If not 2017 this could be a topic for 2018!! -Seth
  10. I have the shirt i was wearing when I soloed framed and it now hangs in my office - great conversation piece. -Seth
  11. I spoke with Vivek at Mooney Summit. That's too bad that he and the company have decided to move on from each other. I'm curious as to the next CEO's commitment and vision. -Seth
  12. My IO550A installed in the Missile in 1997 or 1998 was field overhauled in 2011. I will check with Bolduc in MN to see if that part was reused or if it was replaced with the newer thicker part as it should have been as part of a factory overhaul. Are field overhauls required to replace the parts as well? -Seth
  13. I thought the flaps of either the 301 or the M22 were much better - I forget which model. -Seth
  14. The 441 is in the conversation. Does anyone have any personal experience? I'm going to have to visit Hagerstown to chat with the flight department you mentioned. -Seth
  15. Glad to see they are certified!! -Seth
  16. That is terrible news. Hope to learn more. Prayers for the family. -Seth
  17. In My F it was the same as the J, 30 mains, 49 in the nose, and even in the Missile, with more weight on the nose, it's still 49. -Seth
  18. Glad to hear it was an easy fix. Often it's much more intense both in labor and dollars. Looking forward to seeing your finished panel. -Seth
  19. I was there as part of my first coast to coast flight in 2010. Yes, I'm sure it can be much worse. It didn't seem remarkably terrible then, except for the hump in the middle and uphill landing, which I knew to expect. That means it's either gotten worse or I just didn't think it was that bad . . . 7 years ago. -Seth
  20. Check for 49 PSI on the nose as indicated above. Glad you replaced the pucks! -Seth
  21. We are still determining the budget. I need to know that my assumptions are correct for the cabin and mission requirements. Also, it seems the acquisition budget may be higher than originally expected. I'm also not so sure about the fractional programs being less for the amount do travel this group does as well as that in a short time, I would be our pilot. -Seth
  22. I'm on the younger side - 35. Bought my first Mooney when I was 26 at the time. It's 9 years of aircraft ownership come July. 3 years in my 1967 M20F and almost 6 years of my 1983 Missile. -Seth
  23. That would be great. Thanks! I need to make it back up to Hagerstown now that the restaurant is re-opened. -Seth
