  1. Specifics, pictures, times, status, please.
  2. This is why I love being on the Forum. I learn, get entertained, and get to dream at the same time. I myself being the rookie that I am, I probably would not have spoke up. I would hope the pilot understands that there is a serious problem, but it is not my place to judge. I just am not experienced enough. Now, that said, if I saw someone taxi with a flat tire, yes, I most likely would say something. " you got a flat tire? Nope, the other three swelled right up"
  3. Okay, I will bite. What is the plane in the hangar behind it? A Texan?
  4. go buy the STC from them. From my understanding, the gentleman who developed it passed away, and the family were disinterested in selling the kits. I bet you could buy the STC for less than a Kit costs.
  5. There are some airplanes that just look right. One of course is our Mooney's, another is the P 51 Mustang, and another one is the F-16. That jet just looks right. According to all accounts, the F-16 has been and still is all it can be. It doesn't suprise me one bit it that the 16 can out perform the 35 in some aspects. After reading up on the 16, it seems it is still being updated to compete for sales for many years to come. Go USA!
  6. Didn't they get a weight exemption? Or something like that?
  7. On the cover of the "Rolling Stones"
  8. But it is really really pretty!!!!
  9. If I was a betting man, I would guess second door. It wasn't said or implied, but taking into account where I was in the conversation, second door seems reasonable. I don't know if that development alone will make enough of a difference to drive more sales. We all know why Cirrus sells the most. I don't see a second door alone making the difference. Maybe it is just the first step? DF
  10. I was working at the store today, and I saw a Mooney shirt. Of course I had to strike up a conversation. The gentleman turned out to be a West coast salesman for the company. We touched on a lot of topics about the past, present, and future. Talked parachute, UL, landing gear, second door, competition, and the such. I started pushing on useful load, which led to the weight conversation related to landing gear and extra weight if adding a parachute or second door.......Well. The salesman stopped and smiled, and let loose with " watch for an announcement in September " And that was it. He has knowledge of a late third quarter announcement, that is not M10 related. As I said, interesting conversation. DF
  11. Okay. Sort of in the middle one way or the other. Makes sense now. Df
  12. Depending on where you are in Austin, San Marcos can be a 40 plus minute drive to get all the way out to the airport. You are being very flexible. Good Luck David
  13. http://www.mooney.com/news/mooney-international-latest-news-may-2015/ Long press release from Mooney containing a lot of redundant info but fun to read never-the-less. David
  14. Full warranty, ABS in out with up to date "New" electronics, Zero time. You know exactly its history. Sure, there are benefits. As always, worth is subjective.
  15. congratulations. How long did that take? Two years to put the whole team together?
  16. I have not had a third party conformation of this, yet. Just had an amazing story told me. Here is the new M-22 Mustang, at it's maiden press release. The members of the press were assembled, the Mustang shined up and ready. The test pilot was at altitude. There were two Com's set up, one for the public, and one inside the hangar. The story goes like this, " I've reached FL20 and all is well" "Kerrville, we have a problem" Seems there was some kind of engine fire. The Pilot empty's the fire extinguisher. Get's the fire out. He then proceeds to deadstick the bird onto the short runway, and rolls it to the hangar doors on momentum alone. The legend is that the pilot got out of cockpit, waived at the crowd, and walked inside. Again, I don't have this verified. I asked my father and he does not remember it happening. I will ask and try to get it verified. DF
  17. Great Weather on Friday and Saturday
  18. Today I took up my brother in law (Commercial IFR) and our Father in Law up in a 172. We putted around for a bit flying over the lake. What was notable about this trip was two things. First: this was a 172 at my Bother in laws home field. First time I had been in it. He fly's a Cherokee. We both spent maybe three minutes looking for the master. It wasn't a toggle as in my regular rental, and it wasn't located anywhere near what I was accustomed to. This taught me a lesson. Second was at flare. He was all bothered by the sight picture at landing, being so used to the his Piper I guess. He said more than once to get the nose up, to me. I told him "I got it" and I had a realsmooth landing. This also taught me a lesson. Always Look, learn, and Listen, but, also to follow your training. I knew I had a good landing going and if I would have got my nose up when he wanted me to, I would have ballooned the flair and dropped down hard. DF
  19. That is what I was thinking. The issue was finding the control box. Df
