  1. Call me. If you can maybe find one, I will drive it down to you. Call Jimmy Garrison maybe.
  2. Encore is Mooney's best "Overall" product IMHO. Yes, more than the J Good luck with your sale. David
  3. G.I.F.T Academy Girls in Flight Training Girlsinflight.org My brother in law( comercial rating) donates his time to this all girl student event. They have ladies from all over the USA come learn to Pinch Hit, just sit in a plane, or get their PPL. Ms Latimer is the examiner and her husband is the CFI II. I can't help with the flying as I don't have enough hours, but try and give some money. Maybe Jolie can help? Did I just volunteer Jolie
  4. Some of you may be interested I think. Ethanol Free 87 octane fuel. In Hondo, TX, I stumbled on a fuel company that trucks in this fuel for the farmers who want it for their equipment that sits for long periods of time. It is only 87 octane but they do treat the batch with a lead free "conditioner" which they say the farmers like. Anyway, thought this was of some interest and if any of you are on the EAA site or Vans AF, you could pass it along.l They also have it available somewhere in Del Rio, TX at an automated, unmanned station. 5. Posted Yesterday, 07:53 PM I believe they fly you there, fly the plane back to it's base, then fly back to pick you up. So you will be paying for 2 round trips which explains the pricing. I sat in the cockpit of a Lear 35, not exactly a lot of room, I think my Mooney has more space. He did say that he priced it out both ways, crew staying for the three days, plane doing the round trip. Said the crew staying was less expensive.
  6. Southwest Airlines with a little advance notice should be about $250-$300 per person round trip - peanuts included I know, I know Special occasion, yada yada.
  7. If you take the Lords and vacume seal them in food quality bags, and then keep them in dark storage, I dare say they could be 100 yrs old and function fully within spec. I used to wrap my racing slicks in dark trash bags after a race weekend in they only had a medium number of laps on them. I could definately feel the difference from tires I didn't wrap compare to the ones I did. I could do first and second practice on the used wrapped tires no problem compared to ones I didn't take off the rims. David
  8. I called a local charter service today for a quote for 8ppl from San Antonio (or Kerrville) to New Orleans. For a Lear 35 that is stationed in San Antonio, the quote was right at $20,000 That was a Thursday to Sunday time frame. I told the company I was probably looking for a KingAir but he said he was jet only. I knew when he said jet only the price would be out of our range, but they were nice and sent me the numbers just because I called. He said a single day price, there and back would be around $10,000 for the same plane. sigh,,,,,, I will post the KingAir prices when I get them David
  9. Had a guest come in with a five day old receipt, with the claim that she didn't get her full order. I was very nice and accommodating but I was resolute that I was not going to give her her demanded "Full Refund", on a five day old receipt, where her family ate the whole meal and no proof of what she claimed. After she loudly exclaimed to the whole restaurant how she felt of my service, she left the building. I was about to tell her to take a "Flying Leap" with a police escort if she kept up her performance. After watching what is happening in Ferguson, MO, why am I surprised. rant over. df
  10. How do you know where you are going? There is nothing flat in there? :)
  11. I did wander through the maze for the FAA phone system, only to get the succinct message saying "there was no one to take the call at that time." The system took me back to the menu at that time. I did look up through the FAA online system my name, but it did not show my Certificate number. All my other details were visible. Go figure. DF
