  1. No...... Not Byron!!!!!!!
  2. We have done the obligatory blood test on the Pituitary gland and associated Testosterone triggers. So far, all we see is a low "trigger" from the pituitary. Oh well. DF
  3. During my PP training, I was on doing pattern work with my CFI. My instructor flew for companies and had a Citation X on the field he piloted. We were halfway down the runway on the downwind leg. Some kind of big twin called in at 10 miles straight in. I was at the threshold pulling the power back when my instructor said I should have extended my downwind and let the big guy land. He was still five out and I was turning on base. He then said I should have made a tight pattern and landed quick. I asked why and he gave a half hearted explanation of how fast the twin was coming in. The twin did end up doing some kind of maneuver to lengthen his landing. My thoughts at the time were, "that damn twin knew I was there doing T&G's. He knew exactly where I was in the pattern as I announce crosswind, downwind, base, and final. he also knows how slow/fast a 172 is in the pattern", etc, etc. I was actually a little upset at my CFI at the time as he implied I could have done something to help the faster guy. I do know I wasn't experienced enough in the ways of the force to change my landing pattern. I by God was going to land. Df
  4. Wow. I wondered why I was feeling dog tired all the time. I finally talked to my doctor. He ordered tests on hormone counts. Well, I basically had none. The doctor wondered how I was staying awake. So the question is related to my medical. Do I just up and say to the doc that I now have a low "T" count? I know some would warn me about asking these kind of questions on a public forum. I understand the concern. If I was a die hard, 200 hr a year GA pilot, which I am not, I wouldn't ask the question. Thanks in advance.
  5. Patience is a virtue, accept when it's time to pick up your new bird! Good luck and congratulations.
  6. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo...........
  7. I got a sun burn from a polished war bird a few years back. I was at an airshow, sat close to the polished bird better part of two hours, and got thoroughly burnt. figured out later it was because of the reflection from the plane.
  8. Posted 30 July 2015 - 07:44 AM The M20K is a fine airplane. I miss my 252/Encore. You're the one that sold it!!!!!
  9. "Squishy" Aviations next and new buzz word.
  10. Did the flapping sound have any metal qualities to the timber? A soft resonance? DF
  11. Specifics, pictures, times, status, please.
  12. This is why I love being on the Forum. I learn, get entertained, and get to dream at the same time. I myself being the rookie that I am, I probably would not have spoke up. I would hope the pilot understands that there is a serious problem, but it is not my place to judge. I just am not experienced enough. Now, that said, if I saw someone taxi with a flat tire, yes, I most likely would say something. " you got a flat tire? Nope, the other three swelled right up"
  13. Okay, I will bite. What is the plane in the hangar behind it? A Texan?
  14. go buy the STC from them. From my understanding, the gentleman who developed it passed away, and the family were disinterested in selling the kits. I bet you could buy the STC for less than a Kit costs.
  15. There are some airplanes that just look right. One of course is our Mooney's, another is the P 51 Mustang, and another one is the F-16. That jet just looks right. According to all accounts, the F-16 has been and still is all it can be. It doesn't suprise me one bit it that the 16 can out perform the 35 in some aspects. After reading up on the 16, it seems it is still being updated to compete for sales for many years to come. Go USA!
  16. Didn't they get a weight exemption? Or something like that?
  17. On the cover of the "Rolling Stones"
  18. But it is really really pretty!!!!
  19. If I was a betting man, I would guess second door. It wasn't said or implied, but taking into account where I was in the conversation, second door seems reasonable. I don't know if that development alone will make enough of a difference to drive more sales. We all know why Cirrus sells the most. I don't see a second door alone making the difference. Maybe it is just the first step? DF
  20. I was working at the store today, and I saw a Mooney shirt. Of course I had to strike up a conversation. The gentleman turned out to be a West coast salesman for the company. We touched on a lot of topics about the past, present, and future. Talked parachute, UL, landing gear, second door, competition, and the such. I started pushing on useful load, which led to the weight conversation related to landing gear and extra weight if adding a parachute or second door.......Well. The salesman stopped and smiled, and let loose with " watch for an announcement in September " And that was it. He has knowledge of a late third quarter announcement, that is not M10 related. As I said, interesting conversation. DF
  21. Okay. Sort of in the middle one way or the other. Makes sense now. Df
  22. Depending on where you are in Austin, San Marcos can be a 40 plus minute drive to get all the way out to the airport. You are being very flexible. Good Luck David
  23. http://www.mooney.com/news/mooney-international-latest-news-may-2015/ Long press release from Mooney containing a lot of redundant info but fun to read never-the-less. David
  24. Full warranty, ABS in out with up to date "New" electronics, Zero time. You know exactly its history. Sure, there are benefits. As always, worth is subjective.
