  1. I think one of the biggest myths is that there is a Mooney model, or any plane for that matter, that is better than a Bravo. Just saying.
  2. I talked to @Hans in Denver yesterday. Meet the nicest folks on MS.
  3. It’s in Centennial I don’t see it online yet.
  4. Sounds like a neat discussion. I went straight from a R182 to a Bravo. Love it. Just started flying jets so I am not flying as much as I want to but I will after this trip.
  5. No idea. I think they are still working it out. The new owner is a low time pilot from what I heard.
  6. Got a call from a friend, they are putting a G1000 M20M on line for rent. Sounds like the rate is $325ish. They are touting it as a 220kt airplane. I told him to fly it like that and they will be putting a new engine on it in short order. I guess that is what rental cars are for, best off-road vehicles ever made. Sent him my LOP numbers, I bet the experience requirements will keep most renters away but I can't imagine letting a flight school touch Miss Daisy. I just gave a hangar key to a friend but he flew it like a pro so I am not worried.
  7. Looks good from the outside. OCD reflux is cruel while sitting inside. Ultimately I rarely have pax in the back and I am usually looking forward. The cling type was less clear than the other dye-type, I didn’t realize I had two different types until I had both sides on. I am hangared and covered when not so I am less worried about the thermal dynamics of it all. I did this after annual but I doubt my IA will care.
  8. Bought in March. Flew a month. Three months in avionics. So about seven months of flying. 135 hours.
  9. Check SoundEx they may have a pattern I put .75” in my Bravo. I cut cardboard for templates and used a regular box cutter. http://soundexproducts.com
  10. Got a Bravo at Metro. You don’t want a K, way too efficient and slow.
  11. I definitely agree.
  12. It appears that my insurance went down nearly 20%. Only difference is an extra 120 hours of Bravo time that I didn't have during the first quote period. Pleased.
  13. Just submitted mine. Not due til March but they asked for the paperwork early. Fingers crossed that it is reasonable like yours.
  14. 1053 UL. I can carry 118 gallons of fuel which leaves very little useful load. But I typically only fly with 60 gallons.
  15. I haul a laptop and reader.
  16. I asked about make and model regarding the open pilot portion of my insurance. They said “just Mooney” as they guy I was asking about had 100 hours in a K but no Bravo time. That was my carrier.
  17. I have found that if the YD works too long and too hard, due to not re-trimming the tail in various phases of flight, it will eventually disconnect the AP. Thus when I turn on the AP in climb (I pull back to 2400/34” in cruise climb) I re-trim, same in cruise.
  18. Brav-O is better than a regular O. Just saying.
  19. Looking in the engine compartment after I removed the cowl. I see that #5 EGT seems to be leaking and exhaust gas is blowing by the probe where it is inserted in the exhaust tube. There is staining on the black scat tube. What is the best method to seal that probe to keep the gases exiting. I haven’t noticed any CO in the cockpit with the heater turned on. The current engine monitor is a Garmin EIS but there was a GEM installed when I made Miss Daisy my #1 gal (GF doesn’t read MS or will find out shortly that she does).
  20. Sorry to hear about this. I’m no expert but I would think your voltage regulator would be part of the problem. I guess I thought you had fixed the belt part. Or maybe I missed that part of the thread.
  21. Everybody complains about the price of gas but have you seen the price of extension cords lately? Make AVGAS seem like a bargain.
  22. I will not be able to sleep because of your doubts. We weighed 17 lbs of wires. I pulled nearly 10 lbs of antennas (ADF, RA, etc) Believe what you want I was there when it was weighed. How much do you think an EHI40 weighs?
  23. I only flew it for a month before we did all that work. So no basis for comparison. I have been keeping my hottest (#1) below 380 but I guess that was for Conti. Managing #1 mostly with cowl flaps. I don’t think #1 being warmer than the rest is baffling but the other cylinders are pretty cool ~20 deg lower. I haven’t flown in a week. I need some Miss Daisy time.
  24. Garmin EIS and new baffles from @GEE-BEE AEROPRODUCTS
