recently completed a avionics upgrade and I have just about everything that was installed available. Everything worked when removed. I'll try to add prices over the coming days and weeks after I do some research. However if you see something you need or want send me a DM with an offer. I thought I'd take a few moments and update you on the outcome of this thread. My initial intentions were to do about a 20 AMU project consisting of a PAR 200B, a Garmin VHF radio (GTR 225), MD-93 and a GNX-375. You'll note that I failed to include a CDI as part of my planning. That led me to look at CDI prices which weren't too far from a G5 price that would serve as a CDI too. Well you wee one G5 isn't too far from 2 G5s and I could get rid of the DG too. Then I saw that 2 G5s were not too far from the price of a G3X touch. Anyway, you see how this goes. Let me tell you how it ended... I installed a G3X touch with G5 back-up, remote audio panel (GMA-245), two remote radios (GTR-20), Garmin USB, a GNX-375, an AOA sensor and a couple of new VHF antennas. This will set the stage for the GFC500 install and a GAD something or another interface for a gear warning as well. You'll also note a nicely done powder coated panel. No regrets yet on not having a ground based back-up IFR capability. We'll chat more as I approach adding the AP. I'm contemplating adding 201 yokes to permit PTT, trim and AP disconnect on the yoke. That's another discussion for another day. Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the work was done by the team at Palmetto Avionics (KGRD) in Greenwood, SC. I worked with Amanda, Russ and Evan who was the mastermind/primary architect/installation expert and coached down the path of the remote audio panel and radios. Needless to say I'll be back... Meanwhile enjoy the a few pics of the before and after below.

Ohhhh damn----I hate tornados after living in Tornado Alley for a while. Glad you're ok. You must have dropped the anchor to allow the Cessna to keep up with you -

More insurance hikes on the way I'm sure...

Yes it is. I'm scheduled to fly there the week before Memorial Day weekend for work. Planes can be replaced--hope everyone is ok. -
I truly don't understand why in today's economy why demand is so low--where has the adventure gone? Experimental? LSA? Regardless--driving sucks!
-
Radios...we don't need any stinking radios! I imagine the antennas are concealed in the wing.
-
I'm 13 months into a johnson bar C model--no regrets. 1000+ lbs usable, cruises longer than my bladder holds, comfortable and fast enough. If you post you're looking, the planes will come.

Yes--I thought it was a curious question considering the factory closing thread elsewhere on the board. It was almost troll like... Regardless, we've had good discussion on the merits and Mooney pride of ownership as a result of OPs question.
-
I think asking that question on a Mooney board will only get you one answer---you should buy and love any Mooney...all day, every day. Fly more and worry less...

What sunglasses do you use during flight?
Brian E. replied to Huitt3106's topic in Miscellaneous Aviation Talk
They were $40 off as I recall, non-prescription though. Second the QT Halo recommendation as well with custom ear molds. I got the ear molds based on Paul's recommendation and they are better than any Bose, Lightspeed or DCs I've even owned. -

No doubt you got hosed by the controller trying to squeeze you in, perhaps, trying to do you a favor. It would be interesting to listen to the tapes and see if they applied "first come, first served." Of course controllers should consider aircraft characteristics so that the flow is operationally advantageous to all NAS users. Having said that there could be more going than you were made aware of. But my bet is that the controller set up a bad landing sequence trying to expedite everyone and they only way to prevent the jet from going around or just eating you up was to send you around. Bad judgement are made very day, some are just more obvious than others.
