Zulu Aviation Corporation is running a contest during the month of August. Whomever flies our Mooney M20F the most hours during the month of August (with a minimum of 10 hours) will win the contest. The prize? You will get to fly our Mooney ANYWHERE in the continental United States for Labor Day weekend absolutely FREE! And when I say free, I mean FREE, as we are even throwing in the fuel! All hours (including dual instruction hours) count. Our insurance does require that you have at least 100 hours total flying time to be eligible to fly our plane (even with our contracted CFI), so that is the only requirement you must meet in order to be eligible to get into the contest and start flying some hours. We are currently in the process of moving the Mooney to Hicks Field. Unfortunately, the FBO we were with wasn't able to survive the Corona economic shutdown and had to close their doors, permanently. We wanted to keep the Mooney at Meacham and checked with both of the other two FBOs at Meacham, but neither one had any ramp or hangar space available for us. We are finalizing the lease on a hangar at Hicks and hope to move it to that airport by the end of next week. Hicks Airfield is only about 10 miles north of Meacham Airport.

We were only doing the promotional "172" rate of $145 per Hobb hour through the end of February. We will run other promotions through out the year and I will post them on MooneySpace as we do. I am a former Marine, so I can assure you that we will be doing some kind of promotion to honor our veterans during the months of May and November. Our normal pricing is $175 an hour for the first 10 Hobb hours as an introductory rate, with a normal rate of $195 per Hobb hour after that.

It is! We are hoping that some folks will take advantage of it during the month of February, get checked out in it and become regular customers for a long time.

I spoke with our insurance agent about this. He said you are looking about 100 hours retract time to really qualify for a reduced premium. The problem is that the savings in the reduced premium are not going to offset the savings one would experience from building their time in their own rig, even with the higher premiums.
