  1. AHHHHHHHHHH----just saw this @Alan Fox. I'll take it!!!! Shame on me for not being on more often
  2. I love my simple heater on a remote switch. that bridges the gap between the seats I turn it on every time I preheat the engine as well. No issues what so ever, hasn't melted anything and will turn off if it should ever be unsettled which it never has been. Use your heater and enjoy the benefits.
  3. Very clean! Would love to see some interior pics.
  4. Link to the same story on the AOPA There I was podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/es/podcast/episode-42-genesah-duffy-and-lynn-mcnorton/id1240482999?i=1000545059954
  5. Beautiful! GLWS.
  6. @Shadrach Ross -- do you have any details of your soundproofing/insulating project? Who did you buy the materials from, how long did it take and any pics?
  7. I too had a dark G5 once shortly after being installed. To add to @Skates97feedback the sequence was: master off, hold G5 power button, master on, release G5 power. I know it's a nuance but was the only sequence that worked.
  8. @MooneyPoor Please add me to the list as well. Southern New Hampshire based CFI & CFII. Among other planes (Cessna's, Beeches and RV's) have time in M20C, E, F and K's. Cheers, Brian
  9. On a 65C you have to pull the top cowling off. No way to replace through the batt compartment door or left lower panel.
  10. Skip - I don't have a 650 but I do have a GNX 375 & G3X. However, I expect that you'd have the same same results. Ultimately I send the flight plan from Foreflight to the 375 and the 375 feeds the G3X. With that, whatever is loaded in the GNX is displayed on the G3X. Admittedly I don't use to many STARs but I do use airways and SIDs frequently. I don't know if that helped you or not... Cheers,
  11. Congrats--keep 'em flying!
  12. Looks like the Finewire prices have come down a bit in the past couple of months. When I bought them for my lower cylinders I spent ~$80 each. I was shocked to see them ~$130ish earlier this year... Highly recommended but a little patience may save you a few. Yes I know in the grand scheme of ac ownership this isn't much, but I can't help to think we're paying way more than we should.
  13. Change a tire--change a tube!
  14. Whew. Beautiful, awesome plane. I'm gonna regret no going all in and selling all that I have to buy this Mooniac's dream machine.
  15. I'm crying over here
  16. Ditto to all the above. I had all the same issues including fuels gauges that swung like windshield wipers and I installed a EDM-900 and removed all of my legacy gauges. I couldn't be happier and it has truly changed the way I fly. Good luck, there are truly no bad choices for instrumentation but I do encourage you to get one that can be used as a primary.
  17. What is your fuel flow at cruise?
  18. Although I don't know about the wedding you should fly in style in the Mooney while wearing a toga. BTW, love the Fat Albert--certainly leaves an impression.
  19. Off to @Tahir K PM me your address and I'll have them out to you Monday.
  20. Rear seats belts from a 68F. These are the same that in my 65C as well so they will fits other models but other will have to confirm. They're in great condition, I have no need for them. I only ask you pay shipping from 03835. I may be able to fit these in a small flat rate box if it at the top if my game. Please before you PM me so others know they are spoken for. Cheers, Brian
  21. Ohhhh my--very nice.
  22. I was swapping front seats in my C and ended with an extra pair of seatbelt kits and shoulder harness sets. These came from an F and worked in my C with a J-bar and should be suitable for all models A - K (replacement straps for J & K models) according to the Alpha website. You get: 2 fixed strap (manually adjustable) shoulder harness (single strap/diagonal over the shoulder) 2 lap belt with a lift lever buckle and end fittings The key parts of 2 minor change kits to install in your aircraft $650 OBO shipped CONUS--good and clean all the way, ready to install. Or I would trade for a set of Whelen Orion 650 wingtip LED lights--a man can dream.
  23. Based on the recommendation of @gsxrpilot I had some custom molded ear pieces made at OSH and almost 2 years later I want for nothing else. My wife is recently upgraded to QT from ANR and prefers QT with the stock tips. Good luck and don't give up with your tip search.
