  1. Here is a copy of a 337 filed for installing a B&C standby alternator on a 231337_BC410_Mooney_M20K_N44CG.pdf
  2. For 3 blade, you can get the MT prop which is lighter than the 2 blade McCauley by about 20 lbs if I remember correctly and gives more ground clearance. The climb is slightly better and I didn't notice any impact to cruise speed. Looks great.
  3. Another vote for Sedona, I was just there this weekend and not only is it absolutely one of the most beautiful places to see from both the ground and the air but the airport is great being up on the mesa and has a good restaurant and great line service.
  4. I probably shouldn't get into this but I'm just curious why people are bothered by students being learners but they aren't bothered by teachers being instructors? Sorry, couldn't resist.
  5. I have the same pump, it just recently (last month) started sounding like that, was mostly quiet without the periodic pulses. I was at my shop this morning and I forgot to mention it and after they did a run up they said hey, sounds like your boost pump is on its last legs. Luckily they are fairly available.
  6. I believe that instructions to remove the ram air did not have a requirement for placarding the annunciator panel where the ram air light used to be so I would expect this to be the same.
  7. I'm about 6 weeks away from my next panel redo and will be installing your fuel senders with the GI-275 EIS and would be very interested in this.
  8. I've been using that one for a couple of years now and I really like it.
  9. Lycoming has released information about which engines will run on 94UL. The daya can be found https://www.lycoming.com/sites/default/files/SI1070AB Specified Fuels.pdf. The TCDS does specify 100LL (at least for the M20J).
  10. No worries, I was just hoping you were right and there was a $20 choice
  11. I agree those seem like they will do the job but Anthony mentioned $20 and the ones I've seen at that price point are just flexible "snake" type units and do not have articulation control. The Vividia VA-400 seems a reasonable one but still 10x the $20 I was hoping was true.
  12. Are there low cost borescopes that are really useful for this type of inspection? The low cost ones I've seen aren't articulating, just flexible. If you know of a low cost one that is useful for this type of inspection I'd appreciate a pointer.
  13. The document details are in the footer shown on the page: Instruction Manual G3X Touch EFIS Part 23 AML, STC, part number 190-02472-01, Revision 7. Since this is an installation manual, you might have trouble finding it unless you look at the experimental version.
  14. We did this once on a friends plane and plumbed in the gauge with a hose long enough so I could hand it to him with his arm out the pilot side vent window and he could hold it out while running the engine.
  15. GDL-88 works great but the complexity of the install doesn't seem to make it worth it. I did it before there were really any other serious options.
  16. I thought I heard that is was as a taxi light, I guess I got the wrong info. I have a Parmetheus Plus in there now, I guess I'll wait a little while longer to see if there are other options. Thanks for the info.
  17. @OSUAV8TER What about the PAR-46? Are they available as taxi lights and what is the price?
  18. I have the Klixon panel breaker switch coming available soon if anyone needs one.
  19. Congrats, I'm sure you'll love flying your new Mooney. I hope there will be some pictures coming soon.
  20. I've been using Top Gun for the 27 years I've owned my Mooney and have always been happy with them.
  21. Okay, while I'm sure I've done most of these stupid things over the years I have a new one from my flight yesterday. While climbing out, I set the target altitude before engaging the AP as I was extremely busy looking for traffic and following some complex navigation instructions. I checked the target altitude twice and still didn't notice that I set 50000' (FL500) rather than 5000'. When I hit 5100' I caught the error and leveled off and corrected my target altitude. Amazong how you can look at a number more than once and still misread it.
  22. Yes, deflintely, I use similar 5Cs, Cram it, Climb it, Clean it, Cool it, and Call it
  23. Definitely check out ArtCraft at Santa Maria. They did a great job on my M20J and it still looks good after 13 years. They have painted many Mooney's, several on this list.
  24. Wow, Manville, huh? I used to live around there, before my Mooney days. Would love to fly back there for a visit. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to meet Anthony next time I fly back there.
