  1. Where did you get it? Aircraft spruce says it will available by Jan 20th. I can't wait to get it . Thansk.
  2. Can I ask what was your iron level in the oil before and at the time when you decided to go for new engine? I have A3B6 and I'd like to compare. Thanks.
  3. Thanks but it didn't t answer my question. What is " continuos operation" and how to avoid it on long ISL approach? thanks.
  4. I am going to take an opportunity and ask the question. My POH says to avoid continuos operation below 15" MP, 1800-2200RPM and above 85 knots. How long is the " continuous operation" defined ? It is hard to avoid it on the ILS or RNAV approach. It could last maybe 5 minutes or more. Is it bad? Any trick how to avoid it? I have IO 360 A3B6 with 3 blade prop.
  5. That's my setup before I will get the Sandia SAI 340. It should be certified by now.
  6. I have my iPhone velcroed to my panel right above the altimeter. It fits there perfectly and it is right in line of sight. It doesn't cover my engine gauges since I have engine monitor with all the primary functions on it. Also my iPad mini is in the corner between the windshield and side window.
  7. Do you reset it on the ground, in level flight or only as it powers up?
  8. Is your phone Garmin Pilot AI with synthetic vision stabil? I have tried to use it few times but it seems very erratic and the pitch has to be reset all the time. My is connected to Garmin 210. I also have GSL39 3D but I don't see any difference.
  9. I will go most probably with Sandia SAI 340
  10. Definitely option to consider. I have to ask my avionics guy about installation time and cost.
  11. That's what I meant. I just posted wrong pic.
  12. My turn coordinator died. I'd like to get new electric backup AI, probably RCA26. 1. Do I still have to have turn coordinator legally? The ball will be attached to the AI. 2. What is the panel tilt on my 1977 M20J? it is either 0 or 8 degrees? Any experience with the unit? Thanks.
  13. Last night over Hudson River.
  14. I hope to make it this time. Looking forward.
  15. Did it cause the higher fuel pressure readings? thanks
  16. Not yet but I am about to check and clean it together with other components and fuel filter. Thanks.
  17. I like the higher pressure more than low one for sure. I just hope it is not an indication of some other troubles. And that red warning light scare the sh**t of me.
  18. On my few last flight I noticed that my fuel pressure fluctuated between 24 - 17 psi specially in higher altitudes. It was all good with the electric pump on. The fuel selector switching didn't do any difference. So I decided to get the new fuel pump and swapped it today with my mechanic. Testing on the ground now shows the fuel pressure over 30 psi at idle and lower RPMs which puts me in the red on the fuel gauge ( CGR30P) and around 29 psi ( top of the green ) at full throttle. My fuel pressure used to be around 24 psi before swap. Whithout engine running the boost pump only gives me around 25 psi which is what I remember before the swap. We have attached mechanical pressure gauge to check the pressure just in case the transducer is bad but we got same results. Any pointer here? I am pretty confident I got right pump. It is Tempest AF15473. It even says on the box 25-30 psi. My engine is A3B6. Thank you.
  19. I can't answer your question but I am very curious what are the iron numbers now compare to previous analysis and how much and what form of metal is in the filter. Thank you very much.
  20. Done. Thank you for keeping this alive.
