  1. Next one after Matt is another 1975 F, @Marauder
  2. It should be going from the top of the right side footwell (firewall) to the governor somewhere...
  3. Time and Money. Just ask @Sabremech
  4. Doubtful unless they could directly prove the part somehow caused the accident. I'm sure the lawyer types would try their best to sue the crap out of anyone they could though.
  5. You know what they say Paul, LEGAL and SAFE aren't spelled the same. Classic example here.
  6. Leave all the avionics including the AP master OFF until after engine start, and in reverse, shut them all OFF before shutting the engine down. It's just good practice, even if the chances of a voltage spike, etc.. are low.
  7. I got mine today as well! Thanks @M20FanJesse!
  8. Rumor is he was sick Bob.
  9. Great Photo work as usual Mike. Thanks for bringing all the film equipment and making the video!
  10. He's not referring to using it up as in putting time on it or flying it often. Hes referring to riding it hard and putting it away wet. Not caring for it, using poor maintenance practices, keeping it outside without protection, etc.... Like the guy who routinely patches his fuel tanks himself instead of having them professionally resealed. Or the owner that doesn't keep on on preventative maintenance and wonders why his planes breaks down. Its good for the airplane and good for resale value of the fleet to take care of it like it was your own.
  11. Finally got a chance to fly it this weekend. Went up for a quick test flight early Saturday, then picked up a friend and flew out to the Mooney wake. It was fun meeting some new mooneyspacers and catching up with old friends @Alan Fox @carusoam @201er. Nice to finally put some faces to names like Byron @jetdriven. Now to finish my interior refurbishment project.
  12. Pretty sure that can't happen.
  13. I should be there Seth!
  14. Thanks Alex!
  15. @Raptor05121 Can you provide a parts list to do this conversion? I think I want to do this. My lights get too freaking hot!
  16. Come on now gentleman, get the druck out of here!
  17. Ha. No worries, I do the same thing with my airplane partner to justify upgrades...
  18. If my post bladder install/annual flight goes okay, I will be there!
  19. I wouldn't bank on that Richard (pun intended). You might be able to get $1-200 for your old instruments total. There are tons of them out there and no one wants them. I ended up giving mine away. Just an FYI. I do agree 100% about stepping up to the 900 if you can swing it though!
  20. I tried getting them to provide a snubber and they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. They suggested checking connections, etc...after about three years I sent mine back for the CiES sender hardware modification, and supposedly they fixed the software issues that cause the MAP fluctuation as well. Hoping to fly it this week to verify it.
  21. I'm jealous, I went to a maintenance school, so even though I have a BS in Aviation, it doesn't count towards the restricted ATP.
  22. Exactly. Carbureted engines don't like LOP.
  23. Did you graduate with a BS from a 141 college?
  24. Excessive forces? Probably not...but still some significant forces none the less. Take a bicycle with a quick release axle type wheel, grab it by the axle and spin it with your hands, now try turning it sideways and report back to us. Now think about a much heavier wheel traveling much faster. Enough force for damage to occur? Probably not, but still some significant force there. Can't deny that the heavy metal airplanes do this automatically though, probably more to stop a spinning wheel with something stuck on it from damaging the wing/wires, hydraulic lines etc...than to prevent the gyroscopic force from over stressing a part.
  25. Only the prelim... https://app.ntsb.gov/pdfgenerator/ReportGeneratorFile.ashx?EventID=20170923X20448&AKey=1&RType=Prelim&IType=LA
