  1. More pictures please Chris @Marauder
  2. I don't think Modworks is in business anymore...?
  3. Ah round trip makes sense, I was thinking one way!
  4. I think the kit is like $3,400. I would figure around 10 hours labor to install. Gets you an extra 10 gallons total.
  5. What route are you taking that takes 15 hours to get to Blacksburg from Wilmington Dan?!
  6. You haven't seen the prices Alan tries to buy for Bob...
  7. Yes, the one in the front of the case is for oil pressure. The reading is being taken before the oil cooler.
  8. Only as long as she doesn't have to climb up front with you. Getting into the cockpit of the PA-46 is a huge PITA! And working under the panel, well that is another level of difficulty.
  9. Alex, as you said the vernatherm maintains the temp. The amount of oil in the engine should have no effect on oil temp (unless there is so little it causes other issues...) The oil temp is still in the stock location above the filter, just a different probe needed for the JPI.

  11. check the link for the one Craig posted. Looks like a good solution Hank.
  12. Craig, the silicone one actually looks promising. I would give it a try.
  13. What Byron is saying is true but only if it isn't installed properly the first time. Lycoming Part # 72059 with pro seal tightened properly (with a good safety wire job) should give you years of leak free operation.
  14. I thought the OEM one was just a paper type gasket? I've always put these on with a little pro-seal to ensure they don't leak in the future. You could do that with the cork as well. Silicone works well, just don't over tighten it...
  15. There are 2 different style cases Don, one fits with the AHRS chip, one does not. So they say.
  16. I just built one using this method as well. It was a little more work in the programming department, but I saved like $15 over buying the components that the stratux.me website wants you to buy. I went with the clear case with dual fans and removed the USB plug from the one fan and soldered both fans to the AHRS chip (it has a fan sensor/controller built in). Worked perfectly after reformatting my SD card 3 different times in order to get the software to boot up. My only disappointment is the battery I chose (6000 mah) doesn't seem to last nearly as long as my stratus 2.
  17. The OP is flying a 2008 Acclaim, I would hope an airplane that new isn't suffering from leaks yet...
  18. You are correct, I always get them mixed up.
  19. Any update on this @chrixxer ?
  20. Model year 1967 F models had the outboard 1/4 of the wing twisted (wash in) for supposed aerodynamic and slow speed improvements. They only made them for one year.
  21. Too bad there is the part in the FARs about being English proficient...
  22. Clarence, Yes, a check ride counts as a flight review and resets the 2 year clock.
  23. But Mike, what about the added expenses of replacing your exhaust system more often due to the LOP operations...
  24. The title should be Bravo and Ranger had a baby since this has the Lycoming 540...
  25. How much for the spinner assy. with bulkhead jerry @acpartswhse?
