  1. Ok I was wrong. The Gear horn is switched on the positive side to the gear switch (later F schmatics) But the Stall warning horn is switched on Negative side. The Dynon warning will take a positive input. 12v but not 24V.
  2. Most of the switching in the Mooney occur on the ground side. So if you use the ground side switching of the sonalert for gear warning, to trigger one of the programed alerts in the 450b.
  3. a Bit of overkill https://ceetak.com/files/downloads/parker-catalogues/parker-o-ring-handbookptd5705-en.pdf
  4. We used solenoids to isolate the 2 way radios in the cabs of mixer trucks. fleet of 200 trucks. Lots of heat and vibration. We had some metal can solenoids. They all failed and replaced with bakeolite solenoids. Just say no to metal can solenoids.
  5. If you are leaving the gear down till the end of the runway you are leaving alot of drag down. The theory is if the gear comes up right after lift off you will have more speed and altitude which gives you more options. We may be saying the same thing depending on what you define as effective runway.
  6. You say you are trying to clear terrain, but you seem to be leaving the drag down. I was taught. Lift off, Gear up, dip the nose for a few moments to gain speed get the wing flying then climb out. By a Mooney Safety instructor.
  7. Replace Circuit Breaker. Grease Actuator. What did you change last?
  8. Not a crack. rusted away.
  9. I have a B and C on my F Mooney. IO 360.
  10. The key is if it is not ADSB and you can't find the kit. The plane becomes an orphan. Also what A/P and what is an upgrade path there.
  11. This is typical of metal can solenoid for reliability. At one point I was able to find the Potter Bunsfield relay at McMaster Car.
  12. Looks like he walked off the wing to the boat. Gangsta move
  13. Buy a BMW and a good helmet.
  14. Baby jar test. What is the DA? Is it flooding stumbling? When was the fuel servo last rebuilt?
  15. I built the whole weather station for the sailing club... If that is a belly strobe, may not be needed. My F only has wing strobes. Or you can replace with LED from Wheelen. Any ole strobe tube should work.
  16. Do back/leg stretching exercises. I stop about every 2 hours anyways.
  17. I would strap the plane to a pallet using the tie down points. Then lift the pallet. If you are not wanting to damage things.
  18. You know till the weld at the base of the handle breaks or the lock block slips.
  19. The small brass part is part of the backspring and that is J and above. See my prior comments for J and above.
  20. Which is how OWT get created. The e gear extension is very robust system. If someone had actually been inside one they would know that the gears and parts are very well made. spline gear that is on the end of the rotating cable. Exploded view of the gears and parts inside the e gear that sits on back of the motor.
  21. If you are considering an engine monitor. Then consider starting with the Dynon EMS with the 9" screen. Then just get a 430W and put in there.
  22. Probably not with a back spring brass part (J and up) F and below preferably on jack stands should be done each annual. I would think you would want to know that it has been done on the ground first successfully. Know the system know where the floor indicator should be when down and locked.
