  1. There are statutory laws still, Bob Nobody said anything about a C5
  2. Well, you should see what the extra 10" a good F can attract!
  3. Humm, I just thought it was the Viper doing a burn out...
  4. Well, I stand corrected. FLYQ reset itself 2 times today. No temp issues, no other progs running, just simply shut down. I didn't have time to test wingx, but will soon.
  5. I have not observed an issue with L3 Lynx, Ipad and FLyq. Perhaps next IOS "update" I can enjoy the pain you feel with Foreflight also.
  6. Glenn, you will probably never find as sweet of setup as you had in Indy being so close to your Hanger in you beautiful home. Congrats on the retirement! Come on down to SNF a few days early each year and we can knock out the IPC's and FR's for you.
  7. I have mine set to 37, but reduce to 34 once out of the "kill" zone (
  8. Had this happen to my 70 F model about 10 years ago. Was found fairly easily after cleaning up the engine real well and then using Magnaflux developer on it. Run the engine pretty hard for about 10 min and it showed me right where the leak was. That little pin hole could spray a lot of oil on things!
  9. When I thought about engaging "younger" to enable the succession and insure the Mooney Summit's longevity, the virility attribute hadn't entered my mind. Congrats Seth, Meghan!. It looks like we can be working on generation 3 of attendee's already! Maybe a "back seat ready" course, or "diapers at altitude". My son and Mooney Summiit Board member Nick Elliott and his wife Mari are also expecting. Grandchild #4
  10. Clarence, do you know why Loctite is frowned upon by the powers who govern the installation universe of F * r * sin(theta)?
  11. I transitioned the new owner (a list member) in this plane, N231WH, it was a very nice restoration that Jake and his crew did. Jake was very easy to work with for the new owner, a couple of minor squawks Jake was all over rectifying.
  12. We have asked Nate to present, I hope he decides to! Nate, do keep Seth or myself updated as we are building the agenda and lining up SME's now. It might mean you have to mingle with a few of the jocks from Tindall and an Ex flight ops director of Red flag....
  13. I have had "some" work done at OAS, but probably wouldn't use them for a prebuy on a Mooney. I would suggest Jake Clemmens at Daytona or Arnold Holmes in Leesburg if they don't want to go to Phil. Leesburg is very close as is Daytona. Jake is DOM at a Mooney Service center, Arnold takes care of a number of Mooney's and is very saavy of their potential buyer issues.
  14. this is on my short list of upgrades also.
  15. yea, but one heck of a lot of AMU's cheaper than the $VT on a G1000 or G500. Granted, the $VT on the G1000 is the gold $tandard. They are unlock$ also, just add a zero to the end and you are close. The AOA is an unlock also, but requires little Avionics tech time., no flappy thingies added to the wing, no wiring to run. And when you order them all together, they make it "attractive", or at least Aspen did for me
  16. No need to call, it works with the PFD. I have it. Nice.
  17. yes, with FLYQ. I haven't tried the SV with Wingx, but imagine it would work fine also. I haven't used it for a great length of time as I have SV on my aspen, just to check it out some.
  18. As we spoke last night, you better imagine it, Ron. That oil that is burning is coming from somewhere and the only possible sources are rings, valves and (not likely based on your video) turbo new doesn't equal right, oil burning doesn't equal right. Let us know what the Borescope and plugs show.
  19. Paul Beck and Eric Rudingen are the new Mooney MSC in Willmar, Mn. Their company name is Oasis Aero. Paul and Eric are former employees of Bruce Jaeger, who ran Willmar air service so well back in the day prior to selling it to Brian.
  20. Hi Andrew, Thanks for the kind words about the Summit. Everyone who wanted to come to the Summit and registered was able to this year, there was no overbooking per se. Don Maxwell called on Thurs to say he couldn't make it because of a Fupas at his shop that he had to spend the weekend rectifying and was truly unhappy about not being able to come, having to work instead. His son Paul even more so. We have tried to avoid conflict with the MAPA homecoming, even moved from spring to fall because of this, but somehow it just doesn't work out in spite of our best efforts to avoid conflict. Part of what makes us able to provide quality content is that we can offer Rocketman's condo's to the presenters to use. This is a huge carrot as we do not pay our SME's, CFI's, board or other volunteers. 100% of any donations go to the production of the event and to fund our charity, the Bill Gilliland foundation. We can only do this at certain times of the year, the beginning of Oct being one of them. If we move the venue, we lose our ability to have this and other resources that make the event, like Sheltair and Seahaven beach's contributions, which are subordinated to their schedules also, thus the need to negotiate a date well in advance of the event. We will continue with the event in PCB because of our resources here. Phil Corman has emulated our efforts on the west coast once to raise money for the Mooney Flyer, but this year did not hold an event. We realize it is a long trek to make for a lot of pilots on the west coast, still we have those that attend. No one has came from as far as you, however We are open to combining the events, however the dynamics of a for profit and a not for profit might preclude integrating. Ron and I both feel strongly about keeping it a registration fee free event and powered only by the industry and the generosity of Mooney pilot's, both attending and not. If Mr. Harris and Trey would be up for such discussions, Ron and I are.
  21. One of the goals of the Mooney Summit is to continually bring the best in education and social interaction to you, the Mooney pilot, owner and family member. To achieve this goal, we recognize the need to bring in new ideas, methodologies and youth. After 4 wildly successful Mooney Summit’s, the time is now to begin this process. And the process starts with bringing in a special, passionate person to our team who can fulfill these objectives to help organize the Mooney Summit V. As we older pilots’ pass the baton on to a younger generation, it is imperative the Mooney Summit, Inc. stay in touch with the needs of the younger generation. I cannot think of a better person to aid us in this quest than Seth Meyers. Seth and I will be working closely to bring you the Mooney Summit V next Sept 29th- Oct 1st. His ideas and recommendations will be incorporated so that the Mooney Summit will remain refreshingly new each year. With that said, Seth Welcome! He can be reached at seth.meyers@mooneysummit.com Feel free to forward any suggestions you have for the Mooney Summit to either him or me.
  22. Rest in Peace, Mr. Hoover. I have enjoyed our conversations and all you have given us.
  23. Very true of the Bravo. I am sure you will do just fine, it just takes some seat time and proper Bravo initial transition training. I would throw my name in the hat, but I am booked pretty far out right now, and I don't think I own a winter coat anymore BTW, I spent a lot of time in Bowmanville, On. at Mosport back in the day.
