  1. Is this the lense you are looking for? Wow, I've never seen one. eBay has 3. All ultra expensive. thought I'd post the eBay pic for others. -Matt
  2. It's plenty. You'll probably use less than half of it. -Matt
  3. Mine is labeled in black print white background, with a neon safety orange border "15° tow limit!!" It's not the factory red limit sign that everyone ignores or doesn't see. -Matt
  4. Looked like a nice Pitts!! That sr22 must have been smashed pretty hard!! -Matt
  5. Ours went TU on a flight yesterday. RWC PL21, said "No subscription" not true, it's due in January and it's paid. I refreshed the signal, had pilot reset the CB and it worked normally the rest of the flight. We only have XM weather with no audio. -Matt
  6. Might try Everlube PLB220AE Lubri‑Bond 220. It's Dry to the touch when cured, light gray finish. I've used it on several other aircraft "sliding" applications. Cool stuff!! -Matt
  7. I don't even call the tower up anymore from the south. I just fly over, left circle then call them when I'm back inbound or the turn for the right down wind. I've been yelled at 2x by the controllers assuming I was doing something else when I called from the south in the past. No more of that. Monitor both tower and 128.55 the entire time. Also, I've had a few conflicts on special flight rules departure in the right 270 from traffic entering from VNY. -Matt
  8. All 3 sets were placed thru Spruce. One of the 28v sets shipped. Still waiting on the others. I believe Whelen was waiting on their paperwork to come thru with the FAA approvals. I bet they told their vendors to hold until the paperwork was compleated. If everything works out, these will be the first truly TSOd drop in lights to maker. Yes expensive still for a single unit, but reasonable considering the Orion system. Will do, -Matt
  9. Bought some for a CJ, T182T, and actually sprung for them for the mooney!! I neglected to post until my order shipped!! Lol, I called whelen, they will be full up. They will meet all TSOs with out changing to clear lenses!!! will advise, -Matt
  10. I'll 2nd longeron inspection. Our longerons by the battery were heavily corroded due to acid spills during battery removal. It was all painted with fresh black paint. All after a fresh 9k MSC annual. I Ended up replacing the longeron. -Matt
  11. Hard to beat a bottle of water and a microfiber. I love plexus too. But at 18-20/can I'd rather have a few more gallons of avgas and a 6 pack. The Avlabs clear view is nice, but it streaks more then the Plexus. Prist is also good. -Matt
  12. If I had any questions regarding the fuel pump I would just replace it. I don't think there are retorque instructions. I installed the lycoming pump on my engine because of all the AD/SB over the years. I was hoping to have better tracking and reliability. I think Lycoming makes more pumps than tempest and hopefully lasts longer. I couldn't imagine relying on a 25yo diaphragm pump, -Matt
  13. The lycoming site is great, however the search functionI has some improving to do. Yes, those wafers always look loose. I went with a fresh lycoming pump a few years ago. Don't forget carbed and fuel injection pumps have different pressures when you order. -Matt
  14. Last year, arrivals were closed on the Sunday. (Except to vintage pre 1971 and warbirds) we snuck in but they asked our type and year before they issued arrival clearance. They had more aircraft than ever before. Spots come and go all week. The ground crews do a good job of finding spots for everyone and letting the arrival controllers know. Have plenty of gas. 2hr reserve would be good. -Matt
  15. The major engine machine facilities in Oaklahoma only have a few approval processes. Nitrating cams and cranks is about all they can do. I don't think they can do those things you mentioned. Bummer I know... -Matt
  16. Thanks A!! You Jogged my memory!!Make sure the correct governors are installed on the correct sides!!! I was involved in fixing a screwed up Seneca that had the wrong governor on the right engine. The part numbers between L&R should be different!! -Matt
  17. Was the governor replaced at the overhaul? That engine puts out some HP!! -Matt
  18. If the front bearing shifted you'll have some problems. There is close to zero oil pressure at the front crank seal. It's basically runoff crankcase pressure. I would not fly it. Also air pressure on the oil galleys with out oil is a good way to have a bearing shift. I'd be talking to western skyways and making sure your warrantes are transferable. It will be close to $10k by the time you split the case. Might see what the delta is between the front oil galley pressure and back oil galley pressure by the pump is. That will tell you if you have enough oil up front to begin with. What was the inflight oil pressure, what was the idle ground running pressure post flight?? Inflight should be close to 90psi I would say. Hot Idle ground pressure should be worst case 50psi. -Matt
  19. Hi welcome!! Strange first post but that's ok!! Low oil P on the engine during Taxi? Low pitch lock stops worn or damaged? Whats it on? a Duke? -Matt
  20. Dude! now we know. Good luck putting it back together. Thanks for sharing. Makes me rethink the "fly it" option... -Matt
  21. Damn-They should scrap the guy who lost the logs!!! Im sure some one would buy it with out logs. -Matt
  22. Is it not the Thin 1/16" gasket? The folks at Brown are great. Placed my order last fall and asked for the special request. Their response was " guess you have a mooney." They know the deal. Thanks for the reminder about B&B I always raid their stuff at Oshkosh, but haven't ordered anything. Cheers, -Matt
  23. What's BER on it?? -Matt
  24. NCIS Gibbs!!
