  1. I asked for a quote on a one piece panel and a two place panel. If I do this I do not want an overlay.
  2. Over the years I’ve had many panel upgrades on my 70C, now the panel needs modified yet again to accommodate a current GFC500 upgrade. While it’s in the shop I’m thinking of having a new complete instrument panel custom made along with powder coat and silkscreen. Since many of you here on MS have done some really nice panel upgrades can you clue me in on what a reasonable cost should be for a new complete cut panel, powered coat, silkscreen and labor for R&R Thanks Ed
  3. I experienced similar gains to what your reporting with Power Flow and Challenger.
  4. RV is a great all around aircraft, excellent support, decent cruise, fantastic climb rates, low stall, low fuel burn, aerobatic for most. I installed extended range tanks in my 7 which should put my range OSH to DAL non stop. I’m almost done, just waiting on a extra heated hangar to open up so I can finish up.
  5. I’ve had my Mooney since 1995 and only experienced carb ice once. 1997 on approach during February in light snow, realized I didn’t have it on so I applied heat and suddenly got the back firing and popping associated with the ice melting. Sure was a attention getter. It only took me that one time to never forget to put on barb heat in visible moisture. With a temp gauge I rarely ever use it on VFR days.
  6. I really like it, I use this page quite often on my 540 and basic maps / charts on ForeFlight.
  7. Instead of discreetly staging security placarded vehicles they announce it to the world…………..
  8. I have the cowl closure on my 70C, I have power flow, I have the dog house properly fitted & sealed, my mags are at 25. Generally 280-300 ish taxi aggressively leaned 80-90 degree day Generally 360-380 ish cruise
  9. Very happy you enjoyed your Mooney, no matter which model it’s a fine cross country machine. Not To to be that guy, but looking at the pictures please add shoulder harnesses if you do not have them. You never know…
  10. Another example listing a plane or product on MS and immediately getting beat up, if someone doesn’t like what they read just move on………
  11. I got a quote from my shop Avionics place (RFD) during OSH. 23K installed includes removing my S-Tec 30, all four servos and misc hardware, switches etc. i also saved sales tax by making the purchase at OSH.
  12. I along with many others have used dawn regularly for prepping / cleaning aluminum parts building experimentals for many years. I also have used it for years cleaning my Mooney belly skins during annuals.
  13. Thanks for originally posting this. At first I thought pricey but what the heck ordered one, with the locking wheels to boot. All I can say is AWESOME CREEPER!!!!!!!!!!! Now I have to make some blocks like John 1964 - M20E had made, another great idea.
  14. My thinking is if I’m spending that much money, might as well go full steam ahead. No regrets, no wondering……
  15. Last year I finally got fed up trying to keep current so at OSH I purchased a Gleim simulator for my home office. Now keeping proficient is much easier and I always feel much sharper in the plane.
  16. I wasn't even thinking of selling but last week I almost sold my 70 C. While in for my yearly maintenance ( a local many at my airport know) saw it and offered me a serious local cash offer for exactly 100K, he was persistent and I almost said yes but I got to thinking I did this plane up for me and even if I sold it a 100K does not buy much these days, maybe a worn out J for a logical move up but it would most likely need another 100K + in improvement to be equivalent condition, appearance and avionics to what I have. Crazy how hot the market is, but I’m sure as this year progresses the economy will tighten up and things will reverse, will see……….
  17. This is sad to see, hope everything works out for him.
  18. Congratulations!
  19. That would be a fun project.
  20. How did you end up mounting it ?
  21. I recently went up with a hangar neighbor in his Piper Archer, he has the GFC 500 G5’s and IFD 440. Flys the approaches perfectly.
  22. I have never experienced my bladders shrink or collapse from lack of fuel. When filling my tanks I generally wait a couple minutes for the fuel to go down and top off again, this is because the first bladder takes the fuel quickly then fills the other bladders through smaller interconnecting tubes.
  23. AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Not the same as a Mooney but I was in a RV7 with a IO-390 and It climbed and flew like a bat out of hell compare to the RV7 With a IO-360 I was in prior.
