  1. Whats the part number you got? By the looks of it I probably have a extra new one at my hangar.
  2. I agree doing them is straight forward I did my all disk in about 3 1/2 hours during annual, NO special tools are required. Dont know if you taxied yours around yet but the ride is Soooooooooooo much better.
  3. I purchased a complete kit for a RV7 I'm building, quality is outstanding.
  4. Had my Mooney since 1995. I've run Good Years ever since and rarely replace them.
  5. After several weeks I finally got my plane back. I did not have a 530 so this was a complete install. I added IFD 540, MLB 100, APX340, FS-450, GI106A. The only small problem was the original prop control knob would interfere with the the large lower left knob on the 540, a blue knob from a Seneca works well. The 540 could not be raised higher due to the center post. I'll add a engine anylizer and back up IA next year. I have only taken a few very short flights due to weather but WOW this 540 is amazing. Can't wait to fly with it some more.
  6. Done Dec 31st , haven't seen a change yet. Does it take a while ?
  7. I'm currently building a slider tail wheel 7. I have modified the canopy with two pins replacing the bolts at the front slides if I would decide to let the canopy go inflight and also for easier removal for maint. The only problem as mentioned on VAF is that if released its highly likely to strike the tail. The RV 9 does have a quick disconnect for the canopy, generally at the top of the panel.
  8. It's not only Mooneys. ALL makes, models, manufacturers with aluminum airframes are prone to corrosion. I see Cessna, Piper, Beech etc getting scrapped all the time due to poor maint that leads to spar and other types of corrosion.
  9. Anyone interested in how it operates should go to the Avidyne site and download the FREE IFD540 or IFD440 simulator. Works best on a Ipad ( touch screen )
  10. I sent mine to Lasar 6 years ago and still works great. very quick turnaround. Money well spent.
  11. My Mooney is finally in the shop for the IFD 540, APX340 and MLB100. I'll post again when I get the plane back in a week or so.
  12. So sad to hear, such a loss. Prayers are with you.
  13. If your ever around Dekalb, IL I could take you up a hour or two, I've owned mine for 20years.
  14. I've flown into PWK many times with my Mooney for work, spring, summer, winter. Tower always friendly and never an issue arriving or departing IFR.
  15. I picked a better hangar 12 years ago and I'm still happy I did it. I went from .10 min drive to a .35 min drive and I get out 2-3 times per week to either fly or whatever.
  16. What a great review on actual service. I've only ordered parts from them many times and felt they are a true class act.
  17. Call Gene at Northwest Flyers (06C) big time Mooney experience. VERY HONEST STRAIGHT SHOOTER.
  18. I had a similar problem several years ago so I had laser rebuild mine, perfect ever since.
  19. I recently flew my short body from Tampa back to Dekalb IL, my father and my self up front and my wife in the back all were comfortable. Locally If I fill all four seats for 2-3 hours no complaints from any one.
  20. I did bladders 12 years ago and still very happy, would never go back.
  21. My 30 is pretty solid, will generally always do standard rate. Holds course high and low in turbulence.
  22. Did mine similar to Glenn
  23. I'd check it out if I were in the market. It may be nice or it may not. They sure are great airplanes when in good shape. Good luck with your search. Mooneys are a blast to fly.
