  1. Past hour
  2. I guess I am in the ball park. My TAS is 180+- at those altitudes on 17-18 GPH at full gross. Little better when light. I was just looking at some of the other Bravos and they state that at that altitude should be at 200kt + with TKS.
  3. I got the front and back out by myself; I think you could re-install by yourself but I'll get another set of hand to make it easier/lessen risk to making mark on the new paint.
  4. Got it, thanks! Looks like a two person job to get that down while holding it up and having enough arms left to disconnect vents and wires!
  5. Went flew to lunch last Saturday at Port Townsend, WA (0S9) and one flew in. Older gentleman having lunch also.
  6. The Wemacs are riveted into the ducts, then permanently attached to the headliner. I removed them because I had two where the clips came out and they were just loose in there. Of course, they all got a good cleaning while apart. It was such a pain in the ass I never want to have to do that again. Cut the housings open, drilled out the rivets, and the wemacs come free. Clean them, re-rivet them in, then glue the housings back to the headliner. I used ABS or PVC cement I can’t remember which, the yellow stuff. Works like a hot damn and the bond is as good as new.
  7. Today
  8. The jungle store also has 2 different tire talc bottles for sale Both 1pound
  9. The wemacs are glued in, but the duct tubing that connects to them has clamps similar to hose clamps (I replaced them with regular hose clamps when I reinstalled). So you can drop the headliner down enough to release the clamps and then remove it.
  10. Lasar not have the new ones? -Don
  11. Are you guys saying there’s no way to remove the headliner without cutting around the wemac vents? I was contemplating removing it topaint it, but maybe it’s easier left in place? If so, did you just carefully mask up the entire cabin and paint it in place? That seems difficult as well…
  12. Hello, in need of a down lock block for our F model. P/N 560006-003. Please let me know if anyone has a good used or new one available. Thanks! 717-809-9899
  13. "Window trim/beading doesn't work...paint is not quite right....parts not here when promised...". and " I'd like to get this across the finish line. It's been too long!" OK now you sound more like a normal Mooney owner working on their 40+ year old plane. Someone on a different MS topic said that they estimate how long it will take to work on their Mooney and multiply by three (3)....

  16. Exactly (I used to own one.)
  17. I remember reading it, but couldn't find it. Is that the Spruce bag, or amazon?
  18. Hank, see my Aug. 27 post. That cheap bag of tire talc is enough to supply an entire GA airport for about 10 years!
  19. No matter how you eventually resolve this, let us know. I’m sure others will eventually benefit from your unfortunate experience.
  20. Because I broke yours and I ate the cost of the 2 Rpm version before I figured out I bought the wrong one, and then I ate the cost of the other one. So I’m pretty well-versed.
  21. Time to get back at it. If the window edge trim/beading that I ordered doesn't work, this may be a source. https://www.harfington.com/collections/u-shaped-sealing-strips-c-301896?pickers=%7B%7D&cateId=301896&isFilterSoldout=1 I was ready to install the overhead console as they are painted but I realized the paint is not quite right. There is what I can best describe as shadows in it so I bought a quart of paint and will see if I can do better with a spray gun than rattle cans. Thankfully the paint shop was able get the supplies needed this morning and made me a quart. The carpet was supposed to be here before the end of September... hopefully it gets here this week. I have no significant out of town travel plan over the next two weeks and I'd like to get this across the finish line. It's been too long!
  22. She’s been a great first plane for me, kept it for 12+ years
  23. Still for sale. Digging through storage to find all the old logbooks this weekend.
  24. You are correct that Johnson and Johnson baby powder is now corn starch Talc is available in the pharmacy if you look around or buy it from Spruce
  25. Piper Aztec comes to mind.
  26. Quick tube question: I'm about to replace my main tires, and remember reading recently about talc. Checked my baby powder bottle, it's corn starch and has no talc. How can I find real talcum powder these days? or should i just use the new no-talc baby powder?
