  2. Because taking over an existing lease with 20 years remaining and the availability of equipment in place is a whole lot better than auctioning off said equipment. Not sure how LASAR fits into that possibility but it is at least hopeful.
  3. Does anyone know where to find a pressure switch? PN 880013-505 All of the normal / listed sources are 'sold out'. Are there any replacement systems to explore? Thanks, Alec
  4. I don't know why you feel better. The "Aviation Property Network" posting "For Lease" is current. Look at the post - it says "2025 Copyright". They just happened to use an old PowerPoint slide pack from one of the many times that Kerrville County/City has needed to worry about Mooney as a tenant. 5. My home town had an old fruit of The loom factory with about 500k sqft. When the textile industry left there were no takers. it cost the city about 800k a year to do the bare minimum in maintenance. they were so desperate for someone to take it they offered huge incentives hoping someone would at least cover the expenses. it is not cheap to maintain that size facility.
  6. That makes me feel a lot better! (Glad I didn't see it back in 2019)
  7. XM weather will give you the METAR for any airport and the FT.
  8. That document was created 6/12/2019
  9. Why do you want to go to MCI? MKC is right in town and they have cheap gas. I have been there twice once in 1995 and again in 2001. It was OK back then.

  11. Headed to Kansas City this Friday 9/19/25, any recommendations for parking? Preferably MCI, I have not flown in there before, so am unfamiliar. Thanks
  12. I typed Lasar, my IPad changed it to Laser. It actually did it again while typing this. I will try to proofread my posts better before I hit Submit.
  13. Kerrville had the Annual Joint Airport Board meeting on August 20, 2025. One week later on August 27 they had an Airport Board "Special Called" meeting. Events • Agendas and Minutes - Kerrville, Texas • CivicClerk Tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM there is another Joint Airport Board meeting which is open to the Public. Can someone in the Kerrville area attend and find out what is going on? Kerrville-Kerr County Joint Airport Board Meeting • Agendas and Minutes - Kerrville, Texas • CivicClerk
  14. If we are going somewhere far it does make sense to go to 15-17k however my local flights 200 or under I stay at 6-8k. What do most Bravo drivers get for TAS under 10k?
  15. If eBay didn't charge so much commission, I'd buy this thing and list it there. This is a great price for a great engine monitor. IIRC when I bought this same system for my J a couple of years ago it cost closer to 6 AMU's. Somebody buy this! It's primary for everything. You can take out all your old analog fuel gauges, tach, and MP.
  16. I'm curious why you recommend those two, I see no specs on those links. so while yes, they 'look' the same, without specs how can you compare? I know other people have probably already done that, but other than mounting brackets, if the specs are the same but one is 1/4 the price...... it would be nice not to have to remount it but that's not worth the extra price to me. BUT, if that's simply the better choice, then that's what I'd go with. the one I listed is listed as the pma replacement for the cutler hammer according to lamar.
  17. Sadly, that 'brochure' looks a whole lot like what industrial auction houses publish before an asset sale. While Mooney has risen from ashes countless times, if the equipment gets auctioned off, it may well be the end. I fervently hope that is not the case.
  18. Same part number, why wouldn’t that work?
  19. read through the thread not sure I was able to see if it is plug and play with the same 165. lot's of convo around 155 but not 165 to replace an existing 165. sorry
  20. Agree. The facility has been marketed on APN for 2 months. That PowerPoint came from it. (click on "View Brochure") The City of Kerrville and Kerr County own the entire facility. The title of the post is "Shop for Lease" but the documents don't make that clear. Since the City/County have been marketing it for 2 months, it sounds like either Mooney has not been paying the Lease and the City/County gave notice of eviction or Mooney let them know that they are giving up. 21. If you had Starlink, you could have re-read the whole thread.
  22. started as cutler hammer bought by Eaton. At one point I found it at McMaster Carr for $200.00
  23. Well, the weather is what you get, rather than what is forecast. I took my wife up to her mother's in NC late last week. The forecast was 1000-1200 broken; ATIS was 600 overcast; I descended into the tops at 6500, turned inbound on the ILS still high because the controller wouldn't let me descend early enough, and broke out just as Tower was asking if I had broken out yet--at 600 msl or 389 agl, light rain, mist, 2 miles visibility. Stuff happens. Weather sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't. There is no accurate, timely weather information available in our cockpits, but spherics can help a lot (i.e., StormScope). Having it makes me feel better about blundering into something, but I've been caught by low ceilings before--forecast of 25K, found 400 Overcast, 2-1/2 miles in mist. Haven't found that magical instrument that resolves cloud height and visibility in front of you, other than listening to weather at airports in front of you, but many smaller AWOS broadcasts only reach about 30-35 miles out in good weather . . . Starlink may bring weather to your cockpit faster and in greater detail, but it's still showing you what was happening 15-20 minutes ago, plus whatever delay is showing on the screen, and that delay is unrelated to your equipment, it is caused by assembling the Big Picture and getting it ready to broadcast. Fly safe out there, ya'll!

  25. Found this listing on line. Don't know timeline if before/after the LASAR announcement. I think it is going to be a tough business. mooney.pdf
