bd32322 Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 Wasnt there a requirement to add beefed up landing gear ? I remember parker mentioning that when he converted to a 262. And the gear mods alone were also a significant chump of change if I remember correctly. Quote
KSMooniac Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 The gear mods are bigger brakes and different lower gear doors, not structural changes to the gear itself. Quote
Bennett Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 When I had my 261 (262) conversion done, I had a dual braking system installed (great stopping power without locking up the brakes) and Paul at LASAR engineered a three main gear door system. That one really helped with adding a couple of knots. Neither was part of the standard conversion, but they were good augmentations. Quote

Huh - can you describe both of those conversions please in more detail - and what to look at to figure if I may or may not already have something that covers it? Quote
