67M20F Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Wondering if any of you have mooney specific IFR tricks. Like what approach speed do you use, i have foun 90 GS isn't as easy to maintain in my mooney as a 120 GS. Mabey just me but wondering none the less. Quote

Bob - S50 Posted June 14, 2018 Report Posted June 14, 2018 It all depends on you and your plane. Try different speeds and configurations while VFR and see what you are comfortable with. Figure out what kind of descent gradient you can handle while clean, then anything steeper than that and you'll need to put down the gear. I'm very comfortable IMC at speeds between 75 and 120 KIAS on final depending on the situation. I'm comfortable VFR as slow as 62 KIAS on final when it's just me and 10 gallons on board. Quote
