Original Throttle Knob

I never liked the original knob in the throttle of my 68 20C, it was sharp and did not have a nice and smooth feel.  So I replaced it with a black plastic one from Aircraft Spruce.  Besides it matches better the other two knobs.  The thread was exactly the same as the original which I'm saving it in case the next owner likes it better.

My '70 Ranger has a throttle quadrant, which I really like. When did they change???

My 69 has the quadrant. I belive all models changed in 69.   I like the quadrant best myself.

Having flown both the quadrant and the standard configuration, I'm glad I fly a 65.

All models changed to the quadrant in 1969 and stayed that way until 1978.

I bought this knob and want to do the same replacement on my '68C.   May be dumb question, but bny advice on how to get the old one off?  It's on awful tight, and I'm not sure how to get leverage on it without damaging anything else.

I looked up the part number but it only showed the knob itself. Do you have a replacement part number for the whole cable assembly?
