I believe this is the switch you are looking for: NKK switch part No. MB2061SS1W01-CC

You can just use the cap to replace yours. The cap is a screw on as you probably found out the hard way. Not sure if one can get the button only, but the entire switch is $12 from TTI so it may be worth it even if you do not use the switch.

I think Spruce had the caps only.   Digikey would also have just the button/cap

Many years ago I lost the red button too. I ended up buying a new switch just for the button. I did not get a cheap switch, but a more expensive one.
